And here I thought climate change was about climate.

There’s a lot of carefully chosen quotes in that summary. It wouldn’t be the first time a journalist has cherry picked! Also note those quote are from outside opinions, not from the agency itself.

The paper — written by three authors who “identify as white settlers”
FFS. Did they just get here?

Reading that was like something you'd read in The Onion.

Climate change is about climate but its mitigation does require major economic, political, social, and cultural surgery because everything is connected. The review in the National Post may not be a good one, but the carbon footprint of capitalism is very heavy.

Climate change alarmism has often caused me to laugh and figuratively roll my eyes.

I have to say now that the novelty has worn off for me. It has become boring.

Yes, pollution, waste and excess use of natural resources are counter productive.

Common sense solutions are available.

How many times can you hear "the sky is falling" before you tune it out?

Nothing but utter incompetence at the helm of this once great country, it’s easy to see how a dictator with absolute power can become popular, it’s the only way to get anything done. How many times have projects been shelved or kicked back and forth between political opponents, just the Deas tunnel alone a much needed infrastructure project. The list is endless yet these brainiacs come up with bullshit they consider more important than making sure their responsibilities to the public are efficiently managed. It’s not just here, this seems to be a global lunacy but Canada is excelling at this, small wonder Stalin marched them all to the firing squad. I wonder if we will ever have a well run country it sure doesn’t look like it, what a shame.

Ahh, what a load of shite. 3 authors who are not climate scientists, not from Environment Canada, and who are probably from some squishy field like sociological psychology. Well here's the thing about capitalism: greed. From gangsters to soccer moms, it teaches them all "why think about the future when you can gain something material today?" (Otherwise known as the "See you in Hell" option.) At some point the rich oligarchs lost the fucking plot, and frankly don't care to find it again. Greater good? They've never heard of it. Long-term? These fuckers can't think that far ahead, except for a few who are dreaming of creating space colonies so they can abandon 99% of us to die on this ruined planet. So it is us versus them, in a fight for survival? Fuck yeah, this is obvious. But what system could ever stand up to the evils of human nature?

Basic human failure & corruption than can infect any system to the point where it finally collapses in some catastrophe. No buzzwords needed.

Cold-blooded fact: ALL human activity does damage; the question is how much the ecosystem can actually repair. We blew right through that line decades ago. 8 billion humans does more damage than this world can possibly handle. Capitalism? Communism? How about some birth control - lots of it !

Still, I bet Pollywannacracker probably jizzed his shorts at the thought of using this for fundraising. "ERMAGERD TRUUDAU AGIN !" Wankers will wank, after all.
