Checked it out recently, and found it quite interesting. Realizing active mods play a big part in keeping this place honest, or as close to as possible. Also the amount of scary on both the buying and selling side, is a bit surprising. But my favourite part was the gradual humour.... well sarcastic humour. Initial perbatory posts are very basic... so and so user banned 1 week for such and such..... then as it goes on, the explainatiins get more elaborate ... maybe if so and so wouldn’t keep doing such and such over and over again, they wouldn’t be in a 6 month ban oh and yes we can tell when you change IP addresses. And the usernames... absolutely epic! So I’m a bit fascinated to see what level of detail is coming out next. And is this increase of description for mods entertainment, to answer questions, or just totally exhausted for banning the same thing over and over with multiple people. Sorry this turned into a weird fascination, again, thanks to all who help keep this community healthy.

:yo::lol::amen:I can only speak for myself, the comments made in a ban notice depend on the amount of time I have, the level of irritation or disgust or anger about the issue giving rise to the ban and the desire, in some cases, to shame or set an example, so others learn from it. The banned trolls returning with the 10th or 100th new handle, the creeps who post personal facebook or other info, the ladies who shamelessly impersonate pooners to post fake reviews, the memorable guy who told me to suck his cock when I asked them to follow the rules, all might get a little more screen time and yes, sarcasm, when it comes time to put them into Perbatory.

Speaking for myself.....I was surprised at the level of BS you people have to deal with.....and I do have some empathy for you at times.
I have seen you handle some rather distasteful situations around here, and I know I could never have the patience to do your job.
I can honestly say, I don't want to add to your workload, although my derailing threads may never change. It seems I just can't help myself at times, but I never mean any harm.

Totally understand. Beyond the entertainment value, there is my constant fascination of what’s behind the curtain. I suppose I have a wizard of Oz fetish. I’m curious what small talk prince harry and Megan merkle have. I wonder what type of movies Elon musk watches. I’m of course fascinated by SPs on here (respectfully so) and am always interested in their political gains/activities. I yearn to read a “behind the scenes” book from a vancouver SP (anonymously written of course, or in 30 40 years like sexual life of Catherine M). And lastly. The nitty gritty, no doubt mundane to the mods, ins and outs of perb. I’m sure their are daily struggles with decorum, but also other concerns. Ones in which police must be contacted, and or SPs protected. Also the financial story to run this operation, and or what type of attacks they have to deal with on a political or possibly personal level. Alas, I only hope an attentive mod keeps these every day struggles in their memory, and maybe in 25 years, when this lifestyle is more supported, will they write a testimony to all that happens. Haha or it’s super boring and I’m blowing this way out of proportion. Still... I’d like to think they’ve broken up some neo nazi spy rings.
In this new incarnation of Perbatory, I have seen the term "infraction," or "permanent infraction." Is that basically a warning that is short of a ban?
It’s basically a written warning, originally I was going to list the permanent infractions but then decided to stick with just bannings.
What's the difference between a permanent infraction and a regular infraction? I guess a regular one expires but, if it's just a warning, what's the consequence of that vs. not expiring?

Warning 0 points expires in 10 days
Infraction 1 point expires 10-30 days
Infraction 1 point that never goes away
After that a fourth time would be a trip to Perbatory.
Okay, but do permanent infractions add up to a ban? That is what is confusing as to the difference between thw infractions.
Bans and infractions are separate, there are members with pages of infractions but have never been banned. Then there’s members with no infractions who get banned, it depends on what the problem was.

It means they’ve been deleted by the mods. If it’s your thread it will also give you the option of undeleting it.

Rules are different. Infractions get PMs here and MERB but not on TERB. A selfie thread that was fine on TERB and here was not on MERB. I get all confused, but it is kind of fun learning what the differences are. In a weird kind of way. LOL

Don't think the difference is the site itself but to the way its moderated. Different erb, different mod's, different take on the rules and how to enforce them. Makes the erb's each unique.
