So what does the Perb community think about the recent Texas state law? I know my view ; it’s misogynistic, patriarchal AF, clueless in regards to the physical and mental health of any woman forced by law to carry an embryo/fetus/child to term.

Quick response thanks Mr Mod but I would like this thread to be open to Perbites who might agree with Texas. Obviously no hate speech based on creed, colour, religion, race, gender, orientation etc. Also extremely interested in hearing the views of our sp advertisers...

These laws, if they stand, will only displace the procedures out of state for those with means or drive them underground for those without. Surely some unwanted pregnancies will come to full term as well—those with less resources will certainly be disproportionately affected of course. So a minor financial expense for some and dangerous underground procedures or unwanted pregnancies/children for others.

Rich Texans will still have access.
The reward for ratting out strangers is really disgusting. The ruling class succeeds once again at turning the serfs on each other.

Westwoody understates the significance of the "ratting out strangers" policy. Now the state takes a hands-off approach and lets individual citizens do the prosecutions. I think this undermines the population's respect for not only this law, but laws in general. If this approach to law enforcement becomes widespread, the country will be even more on the road to anarchy.

Agreeing with Texas is misogynistic. I think we have enough of that on this board :)

People are going to die because of this. I would 100% get an under-the-table abortion over having a kid. The irony is that vasectomies are easy and reversible, and if someone with a vagina wants to get their tubes tied, they're often met with resistance (you might change your mind/you're still too young/you need your husband's permission). This is some Gilead bullshit and I hate it, and I have literally wept for Texas.

Texas also just relaxed their gun laws. A license/ permit is no longer required to carry around a gun, if you want one just have at it. As for abortion, it's no ones business and shouldn't even be a legal issue.

You are your brother's keeper... religious dogma... which religious people use as their permission to interfere in their neighbours' business. The church and state need to be separated. It usually dosen't end well for the population, when they are the same body.....

I agree with Charlee, women will die because of this stupid law and the power given to anti-abortion vigilantes. And I believe it is disgraceful on how the Supreme Court acted.

Imagine if this sort of handing over of enforcement to vigilantes were to become a trend, and spread to "crimes" other than abortion. A pooner might be seen at the door of a known prostitute, and the next thing he knows he's being sued by the anti-sex trade mob.

In case you wonder, no I'm not suggesting equivalency between the right to poon and the right to abortion. The latter is a much more fundamental issue. What I am suggesting is that I fear an insidious spread of this type of enforcement.

And to add to it, Texas also has gotten rid of gun permits, checks, etc. Just walk into your local Gun and Ammo shop, buy your guns, load up on ammo and walk out. Open carry too, so holster up and don't take no shit from anyone!

Easiest way to buy guns is to go to a 'show'. I once picked up 2 AR-15 semis and an Uzi modified to semi. I did show my Driver's Licence but the guy didn't note the info.
