Yeah, but how many forest fires are you responsible for because you don't completely put out your fire after sending a smoke signal?

Great first post though, glad to see you are still getting out of the old folks home. Now turn off your fucking blinker already, you switched lanes in 1978!!!

I hate drivers who drive in the middle of the lane, or drive SUPER SLOW, or really don't know where the heck they are going, and when you pull up side of them, THEY ARE ON THEIR CELL PHONE!!!!

and worse, they don't even acknowledge you so u can give them the finger:mad:

Agreed,

But how about the clerks txting while ringing in your groceries or using the intercom phone talking to their friend at the other checkout?

If this economic slowdown is going to do anything positive it might make it more obvious to people that customer service is just as important as the product you are pitching.

Ditto. The idea of being available to people by telephone 24/7/365 (366 Leap Year) is abhorrent to me. There is no one person on this planet that I want to have that kind of access to me, let alone everyone I know. I don't operate on the assumption that I'm so incredibly important that I NEED to make myself available in that way.

I have had a cell phone with me 24 x 7 for about 10 years. Now just because it is there doesn't mean that I am a slave to it. Vibrate, Quiet and the ignore features are there for a reason. USE THEM!

Are for sale on the internet, a little expensive, but well worth the effort. These situations described here can all be dealt with very effectively with the flip of a switch. The jammers work by overpowering the local cell phone signal, but if the signal is stronger than the jammer signal, the jammer won't work. But those areas are really only near the antennaes. The usual range is about 30 to 50 feet and sometimes further, but that gets you across most intersectins
Umm, as irritated as I get by people on their cell phones at inappropriate times (and believe me, that pisses me right off), this seems like a bad idea. What if somebody within range of your jammer was on a really important phone call? What if it was a call to 911? Granted the odds are against it, but would you want to be responsible for an ambulance failing to arrive in time to save a life?

In the great tv series "Breaking Bad", the main character has a short time to live (lung cancer), and begins doing things he would only have thought of before. He is offended by a stereotypical asshole talking himself up loudly on his cell in a bank line. He recognizes the guy later in the day and finds an opportunity to blow up his fancy sportscar.

It was a cheery moment.

sorry to be sexist but women are the worst offenders
in this regard, almost every week I am trying to purchase my PRO- LINE before
the deadline and there is almost always some lady in front of me talking on her cell AND taking forever to find/count her change.

God I love that show. Bryan Cranston is fantastic in it. He's the main reason I used to watch Malcolm in the Middle, and he's even better in Breaking Bad (and it's such a completely different role, and a completely different type of show). I love the episode where he confronts the kids in the store who are making fun of his disabled son. That put a big smile on my face :D
