I don't know but I think the world has gone fuckin nuts !!

This shit just makes me very uneasy. What you folks think?
I mean it's one thing to fight against terrorism in the mideast, but to
sable rattle over someone testing nukes is slightly more unnerving when
the UN is looking at possibly making a declaration of war.

What was that proverb from the hindu script that Robert Oppenheimer
read from when they tested the first A bomb?
And I have become death, the destroyer of worlds.

I think it's time to go pooning again and lose myself in the arms of a
beautiful women cuz this shit really depresses me. :(

I am just thankful that we are on this side of the globe.

Also can't help but noticed that the US is all of a sudden adhering to UN procedures again. If it had been Iran, we'll be at war TODAY.

Ya. Aint it a laff how the U.S. choses its foreign policy based on a country's ability or inability to defend itself against an invasion. I guess in this case, the fight wouldn't be one-sided enough (ie: Iraq) to warrant a go-it-alone situation.

Yah no shit eh Wilde?? Is it possible that the U.S. feels quilty about
not observing UN protocol when they decided to invade Iraq and go it on
there own.? Nah I doubt it.

Now there just kissing ass to make sure they don't get in more hot water
than they could bargain for in this latest fiasco.
Probably cuz they don't want to look worse than they do now with their
growing unpopularity in their own country.

But even so, wonder what it would mean if the UN declares war on NK
and how all that would play out. Someone also said " I don't know how
they will fight WW111 but WW 1V would be fought with sticks and stones.

don't kid yourself about the north koreans.....they could not defeat them with a hugely superior force 50 years ago.
It wasn't just the North Koreans that they were fighting but also Chinese military with Soviet help as well.

Don't fret yourselves. This little test and others like it are not going to bring on a nuke war.

NK has no desire for war. They know they would lose even a conventional one and KimJongIl would be toppled. Remember it is winter time, and the North Koreans are freezing and starving to death. They are truly impoverished and want to avoid another famine. A threat by the regime is a way to get food and supplies. It's worked every time before, even after so-called "sanctions".

The US has a vested interest in keeping NK regime alive and well so it can retain its foothold on the East Asian mainland via bases in SK. Without that (and only bases offshore in Japan), it can not keep China in check, which is by far the bigger threat to the US than any dinky little NK regime. In fact, China is the US's #1 threat. Aside from that, SK has been pressuring the US to pull out, but with NK making noise, the US has another card to play (pressure from Japan) to keep themselves there.
