I think I still have some power in the exact same Quik tin, somewhere in my pantry. 🤣

We had that yellow phone when it first came out - coloured phones were a big deal!
As phones switched to digital the phone company tried to get my dad to get rid of it. Apparently they had to keep some special equipment to accommodate rotary phones.
He never switched, even after they offered him free service. Same phone for almost 50 years.
Stubborn old bugger.

Haha I grew up with a few of those things. But most of those weren’t in my house. Maybe because my parents were hippies. I think my grandma had that couch tho and that carpet. Her carpet was more green than yellow tho lol

My first tv was that one. But only because it was a hand me down from my dad. The color tube went on it. It was still watchable but everything had green and red lines through it. Then I got a normal tv at 18. I’ve lived on my own since I was 17

I had a clock radio with plastic numbers with white digits.
My bedroom had the fake wood panels.

And the tv!
Dad had a half share in a tv/hifi/record store.
My brother and I had to deliver those things and fetch them for repair. This back in the days when people fixed things. The turning point was the Motorola “Works in a drawer” model which had a bunch of circuits on a slider.
Before cable we climbed on roofs to put up antennas, and lined up with Seattle using a compass.

A lot of this was still in use into the 90s when I lived in Croatia. I have the old school popcorn maker, #35. Good for also roasting your own coffee beans.
