2. Canada is the world's most educated country by percentage: over half its residents have college degrees.
Still loads of grammaratical and spalling misstakes in many posts.
3. Police departments in Canada give out "positive tickets" when they see people doing something positive.
I wonder if Hatrick has ever gotten one for spreading his positivity amongst SW's
4. Canada's lowest recorded temperature was -81.4 degrees fahrenheit (-63 celsius) in 1947.
Most of it is evident in voters' turnout
5. Canada is the second largest country in the world, right after Russia.
And like Russia a big part of it is frozen tundra
6. Residents of Churchill, Manitoba leave their cars unlocked to offer escape for pedestrians who might encounter polar bears.
We tried that experiment in Surrey too ... but.... ... never mind,
7. Canada has more lakes than the rest of the world's lakes combined.
One of them is in Downtown, called Lucy Lake
8. The first Canadian casualties of the Afghanistan war were from an American pilot bombing a training exercise.
Disadvantages of being buddies with a bad neighbor
9. License plates in the Northwest Territories are shaped like polar bears.
So are many people shoving junk food and beer, sunk in their sofas

I am not sure ... to me No 3 rd in Richmond seems to go on forever
14. The Mall of America is owned by Canadians.
Most of the big businesses in Canada are owned by Americans.. go figure that... this is like swapping your sexual partners... long live FTA .. yay !
15. The US/Canada border is the longest international border in the world and it lacks military defense.
What it "lacks", is made up by plenty of long line ups (btw, i think the proper word isn't .. lack, but that's besides the point.)
16. Canada has no weapons of mass destruction since 1984 and has signed treaties repudiating their possession.
No, we had them till last year, but they lost to Liberals
17. After the attack on Pearl Harbor during WWII, Canada declared war on Japan before the U.S. did.
And then we quickly apologized...

Now THAT's is positive, but sadly only (first) half of it ..

DONT TELL AMERICANS..... unless you want them to invade us .. for the third time ..

Interesting factoids for sure. I did know a number of them but was surprised by quite a few too. Especially in Churchill MB keeping car doors unlocked. Only in Canada eh!

Anyone know the history of Canadian Cheddar? Why was it mandated years ago that ours and cheddar made in the USA were dyed orange?

Visiting the UK, New Zealand and Australia; I was told those countries insisted upon North American Cheddar being coloured orange while those countries had a natural white colour.

I try to stay away from any artificial colouring and haven't eaten orange cheddar in a number of years. The sharp extra aged white cheddar is my fav :D

I guess that upsets some US born basketball players, cuz they don't wanna play in Canada. Steve Francis.... remember that name?)

yup. the famous sour face reaction when announced Grizz drafted him.
to be honest, he wasn't even all that come game time. Rahim was more of an impact player.

while TO seem to be doing a good job of promoting the game in the country,
there's not much fanfare after that and not sure if it an expansion team would survive here.
however, it's good to see the Canadian kids playing in some of the top US colleges.

hockey and curling still rule the Canadian tundra.
