It looks like he is 40 years behind on technology to do this. Other nations are turning back to nuclear (salt and thorium), geothermal, hydro-solar batter (dam with upper and lower levels where solar pumps the water back up to the upper level). God for the last 50 years its all been about the Candu reactor.... Well the world fucken doesn't want it..... Its Teach a person to fish, so instead of being able to fish for themselves, it is don't teach them to fish, because they become your competition in the future....
20 years ago I paid outright 7cents per KWH. Now I pay 9/10 cents per KWH for the first 1350 KWH. After that its 15 or 17 cents a KWH ( mostly it hits this in the winter when its colder outside). My choices are are the dual rate or pay 12.5 cents. (all fiqures are approx from memory). note I have electric heat. From 20 years ago household use of energy has increased. Today I have more Computers, more TV (where it was 1 before), charging of phones, electronic readers, pads, power tools for lawn care, saunas, all stuff I did not have 20 years ago. I would love to see that my heat cost only at 9 cents a KWH instead of leaping up to 15/17 cents a KWH... yes it highway robbery/gouging to make more money...
I would love to see the rates go back to 7 cents, if Canada is going to be a energy superpower. But here in BC since the casino fuck up by the liberal gov (and previous tax cuts by politicians to get elected), the cost of energy has risen to help pay for site C and to offset the provincial budget. Yes BC voters are getting literally fucked over by their elected politicians again......
I could see Alberta, Sask, NWT, Yukon, Nunavut, NS, NL, NB bring in nuclear power plants. I can see hydro-solar batteries in BC, Alberta, northern Ontario, Quebec, Labrador. Solar across Canada, plus more wind farms. An integrated power/grid system across provincial borders; so power made in BC can offset power in NS. Solar in NS offsetting night time in BC. A back and forth.
The Liberals created a shortage of housing by bringing in too many refugees and immigrants into Canada. Now Carney and his Brookfield will clean up in making houses and materials to build these houses/apartments. The rich get richer while the middle class disappears into the poor house.... paying more for heating cost in the winter.
The Liberals also created a entitlement of Aboriginal claims, which will cost Taxpayers Trillions of dollars. Who is responsible if not the liberals for fucking us taxpayers for the next 400 years.
The shit is that Canada allows companies to mine resources without saving for the future of Canada and its population. That will have to be addressed too. One of the biggest environmental things that have happened in Canada and the US is companies mining, using toxic materials and leaving that all behind for later governments to clean up, when the company goes into receivership (or left in a moneyless shell company), with all assets transferred somewhere else. eg Gold mining in Colorado in the 50-70s leaving behind toxic tailing ponds. There any mining must have a bond to start mining for any future cleanup required.
For every mineral pulled out of the ground the Canadian province should retain 30-40% of the current rate of the mineral above taxes. Like the TRILLIUM Fund of norway, they could only use 4% of the interest made for general use. Meanwhile the fund grows and makes interest and 96% of the interest made is reinvested. Also no mortgaging of the fund to borrow money for the government. Rules need to be in place to prevent government stealing the people's money.
Tell you the truth, I am sick of seeing the greed, greed and more greed from normal people and companies in the news fucking over people for money.
