Seems like a run of bad luck (Injuries to 2 QBs) and good execution by the Eskies ensuring that the Green and Gold will be winning this game. 38-13 38 Secs left in 3rd quarter.
from an emotional point of view I'm pulling for the Riders...Too many injuries at key positions, a dominate Montreal team=ASS KICKING. Should be a great Grey Cup. GO ROUGHRIDERS!
Talk about an oxymoron. Terrible coach but has the record for most wins. How can a terrible coach have the wins record? When I read comments like yours I really do have to chuckle.sad to watch in so many ways...
should be the last game Buono coaches in the this organization...
terrible decision maker and terrible judge of personnel...
he has his wins record...
Braley should take him aside, thank him for his efforts and tell him to move on...
I do have to ask, but I think I already know the answer. Do really believe what you are saying? I might be incorrect because I haven't checked the stats, but if memory serves me correctly, Calgary was going nowhere fast before Wally, and all he did was make it a very successful franchise. He then came to B.C. and did the same thing here. Again, I sometimes cursed at his decsions during the big game, but if you care to think about it, there wasn't too many big games here since Don Mathews left.Buono has spent his entire career with two of the most resourceful franchises in the CFL...
he has been blessed to have top talent because of that...
Braley and the late Bobby Ackles resurrected this team not Buono...
one with money, the other with connections..
I would take Hufnagel, Miller and Trestman over him in a heart beat...
Eric Tillman or Scott Ackles would be a brilliant fit...
and the fact remains, relative to his regular season success he has been a post season flop...
the 2004 benching of the CFL's outstanding player Printers for the Grey Cup was ridiculous...
it would be like Ovechkin scoring 65 goals, winning the Hart Trophy leading the Capitals to the Stanley Cup final...
and than having Boudreau on the eve of game 1 announcing that Ovechkin will be a healthy scratch for the finals...
BTW, I wonder how Ovechkin would react...
an absolutely overthought heinous decision by Buono...
seems they have been a very successful franchise without him too...all he did was make it a very successful franchise.
It's almost like talking to silky. Your thought process leaves something to be desired.seems they have been a very successful franchise without him too...
and please don't tell me he has been the architect of the current Calgary team...
how many years did Dunigan coach the Stampeders...It's almost like talking to silky. Your thought process leaves something to be desired.
If you may remember, after Wally left Calgary, they became almost as useless as Hamilton was at the time. It wasn't till Hufnagel came into the orginization did it turn around, or have you fogotten the Matt Dunigan era. Now I happen to think Dunigan was a great QB as well as a great commentater, but he failed miserably as a coach.
So no, to answer your post, Wally didn't have anything to do with their resurgence, but they fell apart after he left.
