summary
hmmm.. seems like most of it has been covered. but here in my 2 cents:
i'd agree that Robson, PC, Metro nor Holt are your style for clothes. ic that modelexpress has been mention as well as SOMA Block. as suggested there are a few stores(DC, New World Design) close by modelexpress in the gastown area. if you are looking for custom corset u may find it here. Also one off davie st. in the west end. there are vintage store in gastown and main st(soma). Also Yaletown has some pricier options as well as D2W on granville. there are some vintage stores on west 4th too.
As mentioned, clubbing in Vancouver is a WOT. only go if you are there with you friends. But then again clubbing is always fun when you are in a new city. When everything is new and exctiting. Gourgomash is an after hour place also Lotus, Celebrities on Tuesday's and Canvas. Depends what music u like. Either ways if you have partied in other major cities. the club scene bites unless there is a special event.
best adventure in Vancouver is in my pants!

. just kidding. for beach i'd think you'd like 1)wreck beach, 2)Spanish/Lacarno/Jericho beach, or 3)Ambleside. water sports and activities are fun in the summer. either motorized or not. maybe consider, try kayaking in deep cove. they half 2 for 1 specials on certain evenings. you need to bike or walk the seawall.
watch the sunset whilst enjoying some wine/bevies at Lift, Nu(50% off bottles on Sunday), watermark, milestones on davie, boathouse on pacific, sandbar(granville island), Ocean Club(west van). None of them have really good food. the best food of this list would be Nu(owned by Harry K, which also owns neighboring C's, Best seafood resto).
vancouver has been taken in by starbucks mayhem. but Timmy is gaining in popularity. JJ beans has better coffee and cafe artigiano has the best cappuccino in YVR(closest thing to Italian coffee). Subeez has a sister location wasubee on commercial drive. thought i dont recommend it cause it isnt close to the beach and the food isnt good. it is a good hang out chill out place. and to meet friends. but i am sure you can meet them by the beach or somewhere nicer weather permitting.
like any small city Vancouver has lots to offer. but u do need to get acclimatize and discover for yourself. hope you are able to get here to enjoy the last bit of summer. as for industry nite, it is a wonderful idea. though i don't see it happening, based on the respond. try again in when summer is over.
