Sorry
Lol you have clearly never worked on set and have no idea how anti green they are, despite how much they try, you must not realize how much of the "worlds" resources they run threw every day they are filming, the amount of gas to move all the trucks, equipment ect to and from different locations, the amount of wood and other materials they use to build each individual set, They dont recycle the shit into new sets, they just use new stuff. Why do you think it takes so much cash to make movies. I am sorry but as hard as they may try to seem "green" The film industry is not.
.
I myself have been involved with the film industry for the last 25 yrs. There have been many growing pains as well as benefits to the local community..
If you feel your being inconvenienced, you may contact the BC Film commission and lodge a complaint. They take these matters quite seriously. Hot Zones are tracked, as well some neighbourhoods must be polled in order to film there..
As for being un-green, I would challenge you on that. Please show me how.. We do in fact re-cycle.. We create a lot of paper and 99% goes to the recyclers. Garbage that is created by are film units is again broken down into plastics, cardboard etc and disposed of accordingly..
87 % of our construction materials are recycled. TV shows use their materials over and over until there is literally nothing left.. Feature films are generally turned over to salvage companies or the film technicians themselves buy back the materials and recycle them into Cottages and home projects. Furniture that is not sold is offerred to needful charity's and clothing is passed on to good-will..
I would suggest that you educate yourself before making such un-informed statements.
Like any Industry there are good companies and flyby nighters. We police ourselves and try to keep the later under control..
I would like to apologise Jodie if we have inconvenienced you and without your goodwill we would soon find ourselves in the unemployment lineups..
Regards
H
