....but, as Sarah McLachlan once said, life is far too long to worry about such things.

First off, my apologies to Ms. Steal for bumping that cool thread down by one. I went to see...wow, she is hot. I really liked that She knew the word atavistic....I didn't know what that meant until I looked it up. It's cool to be pushed...

Secondly....ummm...I'm worried this is hardly an appropriate post for this forum...but, I will get over that. It's one of the advantages of being unowned....freedom.

Thirdly, to the point of this post. I thought...geeze...why not give it a shot?..So, I did. I placed the following advert into kijiji in edmonton in the "roommates" section. I hope for a reply, I am steeled for none, and I am putting this up here because there is no such thing as bad advertising. Go ahead...shake your head and say...eddie..eddie...eddie.

This will be an odd advertisement....in that I don't actually have a roommate, but I have accepted a cool job downtown that will require me to do significant travel. I plan to move downtown (preferably into the core area) and exist without the need for a private transportation of any kind. I can see that being a huge relief for the pocket book....not to mention the feel good greeny stuff that goes along with a move like that.

I put the rent at $500 as that is a guess. I would hope to basically split the rent and whatever utilities are applicable. As I recall, apartment living basically consists of electrical bills only.

In any event, I seek a roommate to share such a place as I have discovered that a two bedroom is a small premium to a one bedroom or bachelor...and so...what's the point? I have furniture and personal effects currently in storage...I would like to use them but understand also that you may have the same.

In the Bdsm world, I regard myself as a sub. I would offer all cleaning, cooking, and miscellaneous errand running to a Mistress type...either you have experience or are curious and think you might like it. It is kind of a cool way to live really...there is only one person in "charge" and that would be you.

I am 49 years old, I have a solid vanilla life, I am in good (i think) shape, and I have a propensity to please and enjoy being of service.

If that doesn't sound too whacked out, I would love to chat with you about it.

Kindest regards,

eddie.

So far there have been 15 views in 3 hours. I am sure 10 of those left smiling...3 of them shaking their heads...and 2 wished for a world where white was white and black was black....screw the grey.

kindest,

eddie.

p.s....this is almost a sociological experiment...if anybody has a suggestion about how to increase my chances of success in this endeavour...I would be most amenable and grateful...

I've never been able to completely figure out my own thought processes. Trying to understand others is even more daunting.

The worst is having been programmed to conform to Big Brother's standards of normality. Unconventional thinking makes the world interesting. Refusing to be defined by someone else's arbitrary rules is being an individual. Unconditionally following another's protocols or beliefs is existence without living.

I know I am guilty of trying to be the upstanding citizen. There is a benefit to civility....I am not an anarchist. I know that is not your point, and that I should work on just being who I am...regardless of the consequence. But, there are responsibilities attached to living in a civil society and I respect those.

Having said that, it's enjoyable to have a unique thought and, more importantly, to have the use of a voice and a forum to express it. I suppose that is why Speaker's Corner is immensely popular. What a brilliant idea! And...I'm sure the conspiracists would say with glee..."yes, the masses are buying the idea that they have a voice!"...

All I know for sure is that I know so very little. Few things fail to amaze me....and I doubt that will ever change.

I like this thought proccess actually. I currently live with my sister and it does help to save big bucks. However, I think that if this situation were ever to change, I would really consider the idea of rooming with a sub. Mostly because I hate doing dishes and vaccuuming. And I enjoy tormenting. And the foot massages would be nice too. And... and... and... :D

Why wonder ?

I'd say your thought process is just fine, at least as far this roommate thing is concerned. Some of the other stuff you've come up over time with has left me wondering though.:D

Let's face it, if it meets your needs and somebody else's, then I'd say running an ad like this is better then walking up to strangers on the street and making the same offer.

lol....I hadn't expected a response such as the one from Lilith...ty Lilith...then comes this one...I simply had to laugh...thanks to you both.

I rarely make offers of any sort to strangers on the street....unless they seem in need. Thanks for the comment on the seeming sanity of my thought process in any event. As for anything else I have ever posted or come up with....I stand behind it 100%...you know that whole "thick and thin" deal. Gawd, I don't even remember most of it, but I'm sure it was fine...laughing.

Yep, and it went on there within 2 hours of the kajiji thing.

By way of update....total fail. No reply, no response, nada de nada. Lots of views but....that's likely like perb...many view...few comment. Not even any anonymous emails saying wtf? Oh wait, kijiji sent me an automail telling me that my advert had fallen to page 6 and that I could click here and bump it to the top row. I may yet make that investment. I suppose it might show sincerity?...or something...hopefully not desperation. Desperation blows....I shake my head when I encounter such as that as I'm sure 99.9% do.

Oh well, if you can't have fun with something like this....you likely can't have fun with much in life. I shall simply do the "patience is a virtue"...and..."if it's in the cards"....and..."fate will decide" sort of thing. Of course, I will nudge it along as best I can.

kindest regards,
