Where do you think alot of those knuckleheads you went to high school with ended up working.

An off duty cop sees a woman walking along throw a piece of litter on the ground. A few minutes later she drops an empty pop can behind her. So he walks up to her and pulls out his badge and orders her to HALT! She just ignores him and continues along. He runs up besided her and this time points at his badge and asks "Lady, do you know what this means?" She looks at him and replies " You got C's in high school?":D
That's not true and disrespectful. Police need a c+ to get hired these days. It is very hard for a moron to get hired anymore recruits have to be at least average.

Sounds like the cop needs some more target practice. The SUV was "riddled with bullet holes" and no one was injured.

In all seriousness, I challenge ANY of you guys who like to bash the cops on here to walk a mile in their shoes.

You couldn't pay me enough money to do it.

I have the utmost respect for Police Officers, it'd be horrible to have to deal with all that crap on a daily basis. You know when an SP compartmentalizes her job, police have to take that to a whole new level, just to keep sane.

You also need a decent average in school to get in.. one of my friends tried.. he had what.. 74 average in college, he didn't get in.

That's not even local news, and it is very un-informative. The original poster is making pretty strong remarks with very little knowledge of the situation. No one was even hurt.

I feel FAR safer WITH the police than if there weren't any or we had corrupt officers like MANY other countries.

I think you should count your blessings rather than bash the police.

This guy just hates cops. It leads me to believe that he thinks there should be no cops.

I think that the bar has been set so low for cops that as a profession it attracts the simplest types. On average an FBI agent has two university degrees and an RCMP officer has a grade 12 education. The entire police training is 6 months. To put this in perspective they're taking 18yo kids who have just graduated high school throwing them in Regina for 6 months and then setting them loose on the Canadian streets with a taser, a gun and a shitty attitude to go along with them.

Don't worry about it. Stop by Save On Foods and get a roll of foil. Then go back home, be careful not to let "them" see you. Get to your computer and go to this site.

and just how many 19 year old police officers do you know???

you are eligible at 18 to apply, they prefer the applicants to be abit older with real life experience. the average starting age for rcmp or vpd is about 27. the shitty attitude comes from seeing a certain type of criminal constantly beating the system and then some innocent one or first timer facing their wrath.

for anybody that thinks it's a no brainer job, try to understand the stress they face, there's alot of police officers who have drinking problems later on in life because of all the crap they've seen or been thru. you can mock them now, but when a real criminal does have you tied up or at knife point it's the police that put themselves on the line for you. that's not a university degree, that's the 6 months in regina helping you at that point.

I know two that are 21 and 22 from the gym (coincidentally they're bumbuddies too) and have been cops for over two years. I also know another one from the dog park who is 28 and has been a cop for 7 or 8 years.

I don't care what the shitty atitude comes from but they need to be able to differentiate between someone they've pulled over for going 10kmh over the speed limit and someone dealing crack on a street corner.

If it were that simple I would. It's not as hard a job as some like to think.

Aren't police supposed to be the epitomy of a law abiding citizen?
They are, for the most part but it's just that people like you and the media like to paint ALL cops with the same shitty brush based on very few instances of innapropriate behaviour. Yes, they are held to higher standards than the average citizen but they are also human beings, capable of making mistakes every once in a while. Cut them some slack!
