Yes, when I was younger I only went out with men with a lot of money, powerful and good lookings. I did need those kind of people to make me feel good about myself...
About the most honest thing said in this thread.

No one likes to admit their shallow, the answer is most of us try to get the best we can get. And why wouldn't you?

The best for a man is a young hot woman. As a woman gets older she loses value to men in general.

The best for a woman is successful, powerful, money, looks, good dresser, etc... guys in hot dog suits standing on the corner of burrard and thurlow seldom have a chance with a hot chick.

Brad Pitt used to be that guy before he made it, yup the hot dog guy on the corner of a street holding up a sign. He used to have trouble getting women, now look at him. 2 of the biggest names in Hollywood fighting over him.

So the answer is bring the best you you can to the table, every little bit helps.

Once I got going, I just couldn't stop.

I really dislike the stereotype that all a woman wants from a man is money. Don't get me wrong, there certainly are women who prioritize cash over everything else, but those women are golddiggers first, and women second. I've never once gone after a man for his money, and most of the men I've dated where artists or scientists who didn't make loads of money. I've dated a few of the corporate type with lots of money, and found them lacking in all of the areas that really mattered to me. I do "this" to set myself up for the rest of my life, and by set up, I mean, live comfortably with a business I own and run myself, not living the highlife on permanent vacation/shopping spree. I'm really, really, ridiculously..................... practical.

I can only speak for myself here (and some of my friends who have the same views) but there is a difference between what one needs in a partner and what one wants.

Intellect
Need - he must be smart, funny & witty.
Want - crazy mad scientist brain that can see all sorts of amazing connections and can build a microwave out of tinfoil, duct tape and a solar power calculator (think Michael Scofield).

Build **I tend to agree with Anica, men who are obsessed with their muscles are vain and I'd like to add tediously boring...such a turn off, especially since I don't like the look anyway.
Need - a healthy, well proportioned body that is reasonably fit.
Want - chiseled, martial arts honed body (think Vincent Cassel's in Ocean's 12), under 6', smattering of chest hair, and really great tattoos.

Looks
Need - Attractive, at least in the boy next door way.
Want - Dark, brooding Gallic looks with overt displays of testosterone and full lips.

Sex/Chemistry
Need - Someone that I find attractive and have good chemistry with; who is an attentive and considerate lover and if he doesn't know exactly what I want, is at least willing and able to learn; and packs an average unit.
Want - Someone who has such a powerful pheromonal effect on me that his mere presence makes me want to drop to my knees and gnaw my way through the front of his pants; who knows exactly how I want it & how often and gives it to me until I'm utterly exhausted; who eats pussy like a lesbian; and packs a larger than average unit (but not too large).

Finances / Career
Need - A man with a career he enjoys (so he's not a unbearable at home) who makes enough to support himself and play and travel from time to time. And is financially practical and responsible.
Want - A man with a career that is either lucrative and flexible enough that he can take large chunks of time off and travel around the world. Or, a man who has a career that is flexible enough that he can do it anywhere in the world and make a decent living doing it.

Life is grand when you get all of your needs AND most of your wants :p :D

in this area, better examples would be...

William Shockley...

Walter Brattain...

John Bardeen...

Jack Kilby and...

Robert Noyce...
Probably, but I was just referencing the one "character" that I know of who has Low Latent Inhibition which what the "mad scientist brain" hyperlinks to on wikipedia. I'm not actually much of a scientist groupie, just like how their crazy brains work. ;)

isn't the answer obvious? get back to where you need/want to be. in the end you do it for yourself and you can always find a way to get it done. as a frame of reference i'm not as muscular as i used to be but i toned down my eating so even tho i'm not as muscular i'm much leaner for it, so in the end i feel like i look as good.

as a side note - dress for your success. too many well built guys out there look like dorks when they try to find dress clothes or something other than track suits. a great build is one that looks good dressed or undressed, not just one or the other.

That’s true.

I think Physical appearance is what gets you in the door first before anything.

Then when they become attracted to you emotionally, mentally, and lastly spiritually then you have your soul mate.

When I am out to look my best it shows.

There are girls that like guys in suits and guys that are slim, muscular, and just down right HUGE.

The girls I have seen with guys that are HUGE are hot and look like perfect barbie dolls.

I just don't have the time right now for a realtionship. Knowing my luck my apperance well go down when I do lol.

Traveling has always been my issue and I have lost a lot of great girls because of that :(

The last one wanted to go traveling for a few years...... I mean common!

Isn't the two week holiday 3 times a year enough? That would be pushing it for me. Maybe if I retire but then I would be miserable.

How could a Mad Scientist take a lot of time off? Einstein spent have of his life trying to disprove Quantum Mechanics. Stephen Hawking is spending half of his life trying to prove a multidimensional universe.

I know of a few guys from MIT and they don't use their intelligence for the better. Many make a few million and then enjoy life in Vegas lol.

I would rather just enjoy life. Science never stops you open one door and there are twenty more to unlock.

Besides most people hardly ever understand what you are talking about when you go in that direction.

I must say it is a major turn on when you do find a girl you can talk to about a wide range of subjects.

What about the Indiana Jones type that knows history etc.

I believe most women are more shallow about male body types and looks than they want to admit.

Ah but I said I dig the mad scientist type of brain, not specifically scientists. I just meant that I like (as in want, not need) that kind of crazy intellect that makes all sorts of unusual associations and see things differently than most people. I like people who make me think, and not just by reiterating something they've read or heard, but by their own observations. And many scientists do travel for their jobs. Jared Diamond comes to mind.

Jared seems like a interesting guy. However it seems like he focuses more on the works and history of civilizations. It doesn't seem like he gave any answers on what to do just what we have done or most likely going to do.

Then I found this!

oh ya now I like him j/k

What's not to like about these bundles of joy?

He's a "real nice guy"

Here's what they looked like in the old days:

I think this might be the same guy as above?

What do you mean by pre-selected by woman? That woman already find you attractive, thus making them jealous when another woman has you because now they can't?
Example,
I walk into a venue with *Indy Isabelle * This telegraphs to all the other females in the club/bar I'm pre-selected by other woman, and not some creepy guy coming to prey on all the woman at the bar. Now,with a sexy girl beside me , I can open any set in this venue easily. And can pretty much run any routine or w.e. on your set as you chose.

Now let's say if i can into the club with a another male. Pretty much every female will have her bitch shield up , when you open her and your value will drop since it will look like your hitting on her to the other females in the venue. Of course theres ways too combat this, but I don't feel like getting into this discussion on the computer.

Be a leader of men(IE "the alpha male")? How do you get it? By being the most successful with women and thereby asserting your dominance over other males? If this is true, then maybe this theory is really just a fallacy of cause and effect.
Being a leader of men means you have male friends who respect you and will follow your lead if any shit goes down. You don't have to be some huge CEO type guy to be a leader.

I'm sure we (most men at least..) have all seen "what women find attractive" threads a million times on different boards, and I have noticed that they all eventually go in circles because at the end of the day it is subjective and there is always some people who seem to get rejected no matter what and some guys who seem to get the girl no matter what. Trying to narrow what women find attractive down to a few key characteristics seems ultimately moot. So in perb terms, YMMV.
Theres a whole science out there, on how to lay woman. Your just looking in the wrong places. If your interested , pm me and ill send you some contact info to a lair in Vancouver. Its pretty much a huge group of guys who discuss and go sarging in van to met and lay woman.

OK, I just looked up the term "sarging" on urban dictionary. You're one of those "seduction community" types right?

:) Excellent! This is very important to destinguish between. My body is my temple, but my approach is not to pour endless hours in a gym /dermatologists chair to reach "perfection"- I rather holisticaly nurture myself with simple things....yes, confidence IS one of the sexiest things both genders can to for themselves, I just can't stand when it warps into a vanity/ narsisism complex;)
Another fine line to watch out for. Moderation is the key as to anything except when it comes to loving someone else that is at least my formula.

I am shocked that you are only 18.

While you might try the natural approach I still think there is something to be said for advance science and tech. When it comes to living a healthy life the natural way can go past moderation for the requirements necessary.

I want to live with hardly any health problems right up to my 90's and then die quick.

Back to the topic though.

The pictures of those body builders are when they have dehydrated themselves. That is the far end of being HUGE. The same thing could be said for a super skinny guy where just skin and bones is all you see.

I think a happy medium is best. Somewhere from model muscular and medium build. Not 300 pounds of beef.

Say 6 feet tall and between 180-240 with very little fat.

The scientist as communicator is an ongoing trend. I think someone mentioned Jared Diamond already, the more technical among you might remember Henry Petroski, Brian Greene or even Richard Feynman. There's no reason a good scientist can't articulate their ideas and the fundamental elegance behind them to a layman.

Sorry, the whole 'noone understands what scientists are talking about' stereotype is one of my pet peeves. I don't understand economics, but I don't go around labeling guys in the financial sector.

As for twenty more doors, I find that is this is the case for all parts of life. Let's say you're a businessman, and you make a million? What's left? The next 20 million, of course. A actress with one tv movie? What about 20 more on the silver screen? Any worthwhile endeavor has more summits to climb after you reach your first one.

I guess I'm lucky that science is one of the things that makes me enjoy life.

As for the main topic, I definitely think women are attracted to the powerful, rich and ambitious. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think the ironic thing is that those types of people are so driven that they rarely have time for anything else, including the women who are so attracted to them.
