and the winner is?

I hope the the person or persons that won have a great life, even half is enough to enjoy the rest of your life.
$35,000,000.00 put in a TD investment certificate , at an average of 10% is $3,500,000.00 a year , more if it pays a higher rate...
I know , they probably will spend, spend ,spent . then when it is half gone , ask where did it all go. There all ways are to meny friends and family that think because you won some money, that you should share it with them because you did not work for it and it was free. Well really they are not entitled to any.
If a person want to help some one out a bit because they have it , i think it is great , But if they are just going to live it up and wast it , thinking you will give them more , then you realy are not helping them out at all. Sorry I am in one of my grupy moods:(

Investment cerificate giving you a 10% return? What exactly is that and is it a guaranteed 10% minimum? If so why is it not advertised more?

go to any bank

I may be wrong about the name , but meny of the banks have investment funds , or some thing like that they could call they a certificate ,or some thing like that , I know Td , has and investment , that is advertised at their branch, that boasts returns over 12% average in the last 5 years, I think the principle is guaranteed, the return is not, but the track record speaks for it self
CIBC,and BM have similar programs, Yes there is a risk, that the market will not perform, But these investment products have made these returns , in the last 5 years , not the best time for the market's . But if I had a few hundred thousand , and did not want to have it directly in the market and manage it myself, then i would go for one of these produces. Of course my luck is If i get into it then it goes for shit.

Nobody won this draw so it's up to 37 mill:eek: I had 2 freakin numbers this time.
I had 0 numbers on 6-49 but won a whole $1 on the Extra. Woo-hoo - NOT.

If don't get it though, the last few draws have gone from $20 mil to $25 mil to $30 mil to $35 mil, so why is the next one only estimated at $37 mil. Typically, when the jackpot gets this large more people, not less people buy tickets.

Any insite on this?

Great concept however....

I don't want to get in some huge argument.... as I detest most charities.... but 10% sounds more like a religous tithe. I just don't see what the point in donating money to charities ..... I'd build a charity with 3.5 mill for something I believe in and run. I get the idea that it is a nice thing to. But I'd just hate to throw that sort of money into something and not have any control over how its spent ect. It might be better to use that sort of money and build a charitable organization in which you know its 100% non-profit.
there are a couple of things you should consider...in this fantasy contribution, if you were prepared to give $3.5 milliion to something "you believe in", keep in mind there is probably already a charity or foundation that caters to your idea so ...a gift of that size could easily be set up as a donor-directed fund where you would have control over how the money was spent...in fact, you would be able to provide the gift based on a legal agreement between you and the charity that could provide details that would even include what kinds of investments the capital amount could go into - i.e. ethical funds, cmhc etc...

if you still wanted to develop your own charity, it is important to note that there is no such thing as 100% non-profit...in fact the term non-profit is obsolete...organizations are now "not-for-profit" simply because there are costs associated with any charity...staff, rent, phone, mailing/marketing, etc...still have expenses associated with them....the key is keeping those expenses down to an acceptable level...

omg!!!! my previous life is seeping out...well, for anyone that wants to get into major gift or planned giving, here's a little bit of info....for the rest of you...sinfulsydnee at your service :D

Part of the problem is people think when the prize goes from 20 million -25 million there's no winner. But in fact their was a winner and they just increased the jackpot as a bonus. I heard they give this bonus because of some of the unclaimed prizes in the past year. The jackpots didnt go from 4 mill - 37 mill without one single winner during this span. Of course there was a winner this draw and they made tons of money from all this

I had 0 numbers on 6-49 but won a whole $1 on the Extra. Woo-hoo - NOT.

Pssst. We need to go halvers on the next ticket!
Pick your 3.... I pick 7 - 31 - 42
Add your 3 and see if we win! :D
yes, I should send you $1.00 and 3 numbers.

I picked mine from the Winner's Edge website..as you can see
they had 5+B in a sample of 25. If I had wheeled
their numbers I might have done better. Good luck
Saturday whatever numbers you pick. I have a feeling
the Saturday JP will go to someone out West.

ahhh...

 How does the number of people buying a ticket change your odds of winning? It doesn't - it only changes the odds of the jackpot being shared.
That's because in this world, there are three types of people:
The ones that know how to count...
...and the ones that don't...

How much is a 6-49 ticket? I thought they were like $5 or $6 because of the bigger jackpots..?

Just curious how much some of you spend on the 649 draw? I only spend 2.00-4.00. Have some friends who spend 40.00+
In my experience if you spend about $80 your chances of hitting 4/6 are quite good
so you get your money refunded while taking a half decent shot at the JP,certainly a better shot than a one liner.
But best way to play
lotteries is as a group, lottery numbers are a jungle, don't play alone.
