Your friend is smart, he liked his life and wants it to continue as it was, to enjoy what he built. NOw he just has to slowly deal with what has happened, the way he wants to, at his own pace... Believe it or not, excessive and un-earned money will more likely screw up his happiness than improve it...
On the other hand, if a person is unhappy/poor because of bad money management, the windfall will also be managed badly. Being given a lot of money is a huge obligation as it can also screw up the lives of others by giving them TOO MUCH un-earned money. If you don't understand what I am saying, then you would also be too inexperienced to handle the situation properly... A LOT of lottery winners wish they could go back to the way their life was before the win... There is more to life than money, possessions and paid-for sex... But - I know, I know, IT SURE WOULD BE NICE TO TRY... Now that's what really keeps you going -- The dream..! And if consumed in small portions it tastes much better, especially if you worked for it and deserve it..!
