Is it just me or the search function here sucks?

For a start, the wild card no longer works for searches of less than 4 characters, it used to work. So Ada* or *Ada* does not work. Lots of names are 3 characters.

Then multiple-word searches don't work, so you're out of luck looking for, say, "New World". On many forum, it's pretty standard to put multiple-word searches in double quotes, not here. So New World without quotes will ignore the word New and will return results for the word World, that's pretty useless.

Try New*World, that will say "less than 4 characters blah blah blah"

So I think the search function is a useless piece of crap.

Try using the underscore '_'

Searching for Ada_ should get you the results you want.

You can try to use Google Search at the top right corner.

There are no restrictions.
Google Search is better in some ways & worse in others - at least compared to PERB's Advanced Search. For example searching for posts only from a certain user or from a certain forum cannot be done properly using the Google Search.

It's quite easy to get round those problems. Are you too lazy too add quotes to multiple terms ??? or new+world ..sometimes using advanced search also helps.
