Last week Amazon let an employee die on the floor and wouldn’t let any other employee help them.
But Amazon’s stock is worth a lot so it’s ok.

As for the rest ... how's the trickle economic theory working out since 79 ?

The only time it gave the illusion to work is when Thatcher had the North Sea oil boom that she was riding allowing her to give a tax break in the UK ...remove that and things in the UK would have turned out like the US with Reagan's deficits and increased debt while riding an economy on the rise by 84 sustained by low oil prices ....because of the new North Sea oil supply coming online in early 80s (UK becoming a net exporter of oil in 81 for the first time and Norway fast increasing production and export in the early 80s ) and influencing OPEC production and price setting for the first time in over a decade.

That gave birth to that trickle economic so praised by the new capitalism since the 80s that you seem to fancy without naming it.

Capitalism is the best system but needs boundaries and rules as we all know that once left unchecked the financial forces take over for their own self interest as we are experiencing. Unless you think that the things are great and quasi perfect ?

Pssst ...Russia has not been a socialist country for over 3 decades and China economic system is as jungle capitalism as most fast developing countries with the corruption that goes with it .

Great Depression affected pretty much everybody in US and Canada.
Finincial crisis of 2008 caused people’s retirement plans to drop in value and a lot of folks had to postpone retirement or live one less.
Financial markets are like a barometer for overall economic health, and the ability of governments to tax and spend, fund important programs, build infrastructure, and squander money on stupid things too.

Stock market health enables companies to hire people and pay decent wages. It is also important for pension funds, and numerous programs that average citizens count on.

First of all its naive to think that the changes US is going through are temporary and will go away with current admin .
Financial market is manipulated and causing a balloon to brust very soon. Do you see that trillion seems like a small number, US debt is at exploding point. Countries are drifting away from doing business with US. Dollar is being replaced with different currencies in other part of the world.
Allies are leaning towards China.
The change was slow but now it got THE catalyst.
Its not related to left or right but world is facing a lier, manipulator egoistic maniac with 70 million direct supporters, who is tearing US piece by piece and somebody telling it out loud is a fake news for these people.

Yes you can make money.
But you will never have the inside info that someone with a direct connection to the president will have.
"I'm attacking Iran tomorrow" > buy defense and oil now.
These guys can win every single bet, they aren't risking anything.
Note how the asshole doesn't even answer the obvious question...
