Has anyone else received a threatening text message like this before?

To be clear: I did not respond, nor have I ever mistreated or not paid any SP. I'm generally careful who I decide to text, and the only one I can think of that this might have originated from, is an ad from Nanaimo that I'd texted Saturday night. There was absolutely no response, even though the ad was less than an hour posted.
It was for escort, but not typical with massage, I'm searching for the actual ad but it's gone. I'm quite certain this is the cause.
Should this be reported? I'm hesitant to bring this to authorities obviously, and there's been no follow-up text as of yet I write this.
Not a fun thing to see especially because I have enjoyed living "close to the edge" like many here but not too close. Stayed away from anything nefarious. I hope it's empty threat as long as there's no interaction. I didn't mention anything other than first name and "are you available". The original text I'd sent was deleted.

I would appreciate your insight.

That sucks man. I don't know for sure but I suspect they are just trying to scare you and get money/info from you. If all you did was send one text they would not know anything about you right? I'd ignore it like an email from the Saudi prince that left you an inheritance. Lol

Thanks man. Yeah this shook me up a little, as I'm not exactly "a man of the cloth" my life choices resulted in this "target weakness" syndrome. Time to clean up my act ? LoL
Seriously, thanks for your attention to my concern as it is encouraging and appreciated. I very much agree with that assessment.. I think it's most likely something that only works if I feed it anything, like a chained guard dog that I wandered too closely with a raw steak. They've got nothing. For sure I'm not responding. And besides, just look at that Engrish .

Probably a scammer trying a new scam tactic. If you don't get specifics (your name, what agency, what escort, etc), just block the fuckers.

Yeah, this would fall under the cartel threat scam. I've had plenty of these, These twisted cocksuckers have even sent pics of mutilated bodies and part of the threat. There is no amount of pain I would ever feel guilty for inflicting on these low life dregs.

Any guess as to which provider you recently saw that this might be linked too? Its unlikely to be random text but rather a shady provider.

Exactly... and I did look back immediately for the I ad suspected was the source, an escorts service from Nanaimo, as it was the only one I'd texted late Saturday night, was published less than an hour before, and to which I got zero response: it has vanished and I believe has been deleted.
The ad featured an attractive BBW in her 20s - the phone number looked local enough - but there were probably other warning flags I should have noticed. I'd only texted once "are you available" and a name, so other than that and my number, that's it, not enough to follow through with anything.
I've deleted that outgoing text with the number - I could go into my phone provider account and retrieve it that way if it would help.
