Wow scary. So nothing is safe out there at the moment? Do LE advertise here as well?

Sorry for sounding so dumb. Don’t have any records and I want to keep it that way.

DON'T!!!! The more you tell them about the mistakes they make the more they learn, the less mistakes they make, the harder it is for us to spot them.
And the less you tell us, the less we learn, and the more mistakes we make which makes it harder for us to spot LE. But reverse may be true as well…

I think we are kidding ourselves if we think LE is not a regular reader here and other sites. They in most cases know as much or more than us.

Yup. But by exposing their tricks we reduce their arsenal. There are only so many things they can legally do to try and snare us and if we take away or chip away at their weapons it reduces their ability to troll for us perbites.

## Legal Tactics of Canadian Police Targeting Johns in Online Escort Ads

Canadian police employ a variety of tactics to identify and arrest individuals soliciting sexual services from escorts online, primarily in adherence to laws stemming from the Nordic model, which criminalizes the purchase of sexual services. Here’s a breakdown of what they can and cannot do.

### Legal Tactics Used by Police

1. **Stings and Undercover Operations**:
Police often engage in **sting operations** where they create fake ads on escort websites. These ads might be crafted to invite potential clients to contact them under the pretense of offering sexual services. By doing so, they can gather evidence against individuals soliciting these services.

2. **Online Presence**:
Officers can maintain profiles on platforms where escort ads are common, responding to inquiries from potential clients (johns). This method allows them to engage in conversation and assess intent without immediately disclosing their identity.

3. **Surveillance and Monitoring**:
Police routinely monitor websites and platforms known for advertising escort services. This can involve tracking specific ads or identifying patterns of activity that may suggest illegal solicitation.

4. **Use of Technology**:
Officers can utilize various digital tools to trace communications and interactions between sex workers and potential clients. This includes analyzing IP addresses and tracking phone numbers.

5. **Arresting Individuals on Site**:
Once an individual expresses intent to solicit services, police can arrange a meeting and arrest them once they arrive at the designated location, typically a hotel room.

### Limitations on Police Conduct

1. **Entrapment Concerns**:
Canadian courts have ruled that police must operate within the bounds of legality. They cannot induce individuals to commit crimes they would not have otherwise committed. If someone is arrested solely because police created an opportunity to commit a crime without reasonable suspicion, it may be considered entrapment.

2. **Misrepresentation Limitations**:
While officers can pose as sex workers, they cannot misrepresent critical information that would lead to unlawful solicitation. For instance, they are not allowed to falsely claim someone is of legal age if they are not, as this could mislead potential clients.

3. **Privacy Laws**:
Police must also respect individual privacy rights and cannot illegally access personal communications or data without proper legal justification, such as a warrant.

4. **Conduct in Operations**:
Officers must ensure that their operations do not involve coercion or manipulation that would be deemed unethical. Maintaining a professional approach during interactions is essential to uphold the integrity of law enforcement.

### Conclusion

Police in Canada are empowered to conduct undercover operations and use various tactics to target individuals soliciting sexual services. However, they must navigate the legal landscape carefully, ensuring they do not engage in entrapment or violate privacy rights. As the law evolves, so too may the methods used in these operations.

Best to do is book a time and not show up at all, if you think the ad is flaky and looks fake

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Here's a technique you can try if your still concerned after booking an appt. When texting the provider tell her that with all of the recent sting operations going on in the city, when you arrive, before you hand her any $, you are going to give her a hug/embrace and a kiss on the cheek. Cops cannot allow any physical contact upon meeting you or it automatically becomes entrapment. If it is a legit SP she will understand and certainly allow a little hug and peck on the cheek. If she refuses then you don't follow up. If she agrees by text but hesitates when you arrive, you turn around and leave before saying or doing anything else.
Back in the 80's and 90's when SW's were plentiful and often reliable, a common trick was that as soon as the lady got in your car you'd ask to touch her breast just to prove you weren't and she wasn't a cop. It was pretty standard operating procedure and both parties understood why. Not saying it was fool proof but in general it worked.

Stick to known, established providers. LE almost certainly reads these boards. If you are reading this, Winnipeg Vice Unit, try to help trafficking victims and leave the guys alone already.
Literally what I am wondering. I understand that going after the demand, aka people who message a provider from leolist will lessen the demand which in turns stop the trafficking. But there are providers who actually do this for a living or on the side that are legit and are not forced to do this work, which will affect them because people are now not going to risk being arrested by the LE.

I have met a few providers so far since I started this hobby and I have been meeting a reviewed provider that actually like what they’re doing and tbh I never knew that the LE thing is happening until this post was created.
