The bond market started to crash this morning. That made trump cave in on his stupid tariffs before a real serious economic problem occurred that would have been a disaster.

I think you’ve missed my point.
I don’t think Quebec separatism would be a good idea any more than I do Western, but I do agree that everyone has the right to self determination.
My point here is that if anyone looks at what is happening to US democratic institutions on a daily basis and says “hell yeah, give me a piece of that!!” they clearly aren't a fan of the freedoms they claim to be. Quebeckers sure as hell don’t want to join the US, and never have. If Western separatists think the grass is greener on the other side of the 49th parallel they either aren’t paying attention to what’s happening every day, or they don’t really like democratic freedom all that much.
