for all Canucks fans I highly recommend Ed Willes book, Never Boring, a history of the team's ups and downs, mistakes,near-misses
what-if scenarios.
very enjoyable.

very enjoyable.
They even said he was just playing it safe in the commentary, not what you would expect from your superstar, sure hope he gets his shit together!Ten games into the season, Elias Petterson with four points. Tonight's game vs. the San Jose Sharks zero points with one shot on goal.
Lets hope Joshua coming back has some sort of positive impact on petey. Even if its not directly, Joshuas addition into the lineup should cause some juggling. At least getting Bains into the bottom 6. I like Bains and his potential, don't get me wrong, but he's not an NHL player on a cup contender, let alone top 6.He's fifth in the league in salary, with an average annual value and a cap hit of $11.6 million per season, and is tied for 290th in league scoring with 4 points.
Canucks aren't getting very good value for their money.

While I generally agree, I’m thinking the problem is a bit more than getting another goal to his tally.Petterson gets goal #2 vs the Ducks......maybe the start of something good?
Petterson is a very young player that is lacking in self confidence that is holding him back from success to the point the team may be looking at an exit plan should he not evolve out of this horrendous funk he is in.
While I want him to step up and justify his huge contract I’m not confident he can sort this funk out.
The NHL needs to look at NFL contracts (except those signed by the Browns). This is also why I hate that the NHL allows such long term contracts. There should be no contracts longer than 5 years.
Except Petey did play like an elite player during his ELC years -- maybe even better than Bedard and Celebrini in similar ELC years. If you think I’m wrong look at the similar vintage rookies Bedard and Celebrini. They are playing well and in Bedard’s circumstance a dominating player. Dollar for dollar Petey needs to be in that group consistently. Otherwise, it’s time to cut bait.

1. Have the ability to have guaranteed money and bonus money.
2. Have the ability to restructure contracts.
3. Have the ability to buyout contracts with less of a cap penalty.
Example 3: how is OEL hurting right now with having the Canucks buy out his contract? He won a SC, got paid by two teams and is now playing in the centre of the universe at a decent contract plus what this team keeps paying him.
Instead of penalizing the cap, the financial hit should go to ownership. They're getting hit anyways by having to pay the buyout and cap every season, but the finances shouldn't be hamstringing a team just because some GM had shit for brains.
I do not think EP is a bad player, but he has yet to prove he is that "franchise player" at least "franchise forward", top-dollar & top priority.Except Petey did play like an elite player during his ELC years -- maybe even better than Bedard and Celebrini in similar ELC years.
well I stand corrected!Dated Pamela Anderson.
EP to Edmonton for Hyman.well I stand corrected!
few hockey players have dated the lovely Pammy, lol.
