I'm a business owner, real estate investor, and professional. Every business owner, real estate investor, doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc., that I know, are voting conservative, including ones that have historically leaned left or have never before voted conservative. Yes, some braindead morons are also voting conservative, but there are also braindead morons voting NDP, so that's just an ignorant take.
Eby is running a massive deficit and is basically just handing back taxpayer money to taxpayers to buy their vote with these dumb rebates. He has no plans on how to get back to a balanced budget. He's done nothing to deserve my vote. I stand to gain a lot more from the conservative party even though I think some of the candidates are nutty and it's a gamble I'm willing to take.
If you truly are a business owner, you should be very concerned about the damage these uneducated bumpkins, racists and conspiracy theorists led by a loopy Facebook grampa could do to your business.
We don't know what their plan is, but they would likely slash spending, implement bridge tolls, and raise ICBC rates so they can once again use the insurer as an ATM.
Economies and growth are driven by middle class folks with money in their pockets to spend on goods and services. They are not driven by balanced budgets and austerity.
Taking money out of people's pockets is not good for business.
I've never understood why some folks are so easily tricked into believing conservative economies are strong economies. Because there's really no evidence of that.
It’s a shitshow here in BC at the moment. Neither party offers any inspiration to the voters, no clear path forward with leaders and candidates that inspire trust. With four days left, one of the parties finally released their budget which has deficits at least as large as the other party. I’m heading off to vote in a few minutes and I’ll definitely be holding my nose while I do it (yes, figuratively speaking) 🙄. I seriously can’t think of any provincial election where I felt more depressed about the future here with either of the two main parties. First world democracies seem to start to rot at a certain point. The basic fundamentals of running a country or a province are shifted to the backseat in favour of ideological policies or political expediency for votes.

Are you kidding me? Are these grown-ass adults or a bunch of teenagers trying to finish their Grade 8 Social-Studies project the night before it’s due?
How are they going to pay for al their promises? They’re projecting a delusional growth rate of 5.4% in BC over their term. The NDP budget is based on projected growth rate (not delusionally high at least) of 3.1%. TD Bank estimates 1.9%. You can’t make this shit up. I can’t believe anyone would seriously consider voting for these jokers. The basic requirement of job of any government is to manage a budget. Does anyone believe these clowns can handle a $77 billion budget when they can’t even provide a platform with a budget in what is essentially their job interview with the voters of BC?
If can’t stand the NDP please vote Green. At least Fursteneau’s party is not filled with conspiracy theorists.
One political science professor from the University of the Fraser Valley (not exactly a bastion of left wing propagandists) said:
Everything they could possibly think of went into this platform, except how to pay for it all," said Telford.
Telford said the costing part of the platform only provides vague details of how the party will pay for their promises.
"The party is really just disorganized. This is a party that hasn't elected a person to the legislature in 50 years."

if you are a business owner then your taxes will go down. but working peoples taxes will go up. sounds nice in the short term but it means less disposable income in the economy thus shrinking GDP.
the carbon rebate taxes carbon. those who emit more pay. those who emit less get it back... and then some. its tax neutral.

The downtown Eastside has been a mess since I was a kid. I grew up here. The loss of sro’s made it more noticeable because now they have no where to go. That is definitely not the NDPS fault.
