Realistically though, any time a small group of people (<5%) controls 95% of the assets, it’s a problem. That’s why we always want to tax the rich more. However, Eby’s Robin Hood program didn’t level the playing field, it destroyed it.
The NDP could have gone a far better path and said let’s work as a government, first nations, AND communities to build a fair path forward. Instead they admittedly fucked it up by only working Government to Nation and excluded affected people and communities. They weren’t even consulted. Local governments and community groups request for consultation were ignored. This is Eby’s brand of arrogant wreckless leadership. What he did was not reconciliation. Time will tell if they have learned from this massive failure.
