Republican legislators in many states. This thread is not limited to federal politics. We are allowed to talk about American state laws as well.

He's speaking the truth: I don't like that this is a fact of life.

How is that a blasphemous comment? It's the truth that he then offered a solution to.

Columbine, Sandy Hook, etc.

Anyway, name calling on both ends is silly.

Why can't we have conversations and disagreements without getting personal?
Yeah, cuz bolstering secirty at a school would help.... What did the security guard do in Uvalde... Nothing

Until the country realizes and accepts it has a problem with gun control, unfortunately these types of incidents are going to happen

No other country has this type of issue with school shootings and Americans are now being told its part of life..... Make it make sense

Weren't the last cplouple of shooters armed by their own parents, including this 1..... Why these parents think teens need guns is beyond me and on top of that, ar-15s

No security will stop the stupidity of American gun culture

What is your proposed solution?

For starters... Ban the purchase of automatic weapons... Why any civilian person needs an automatic gun is beyond me

But regardless there's nothing we can say that will change their minds.... Their so hell bent on the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms they will never change

Columbine happened back in 1999 - - - - 25years ago....if they haven't woken up after all the shootings since.... they will never wake up and understand they need change but cry wolf when gun law changes are proposed

I clearly addressed this.
You are completely wrong.
States can and do prosecute residents who travel to get abortion in a state where it is legal.
If abortion was a state issue then a state would not be able to prosecute for abortion done outside that state and outside state jurisdiction.

Invoke the 5th, if you will.

As a citizen, where you travel within the States is no one's business.

It is not illegal to travel and then get prosecuted for it.

States that are trying to limit travel are doing something that is unconstitutional.

But my main point stands: The voting public determines who is in power in each state and who makes that state's laws.

Imagine the 2nd amendment was ratified on 1791 together with 9 other Bill of Rights. I don't believe AR15s were available yet. Thats is why congress needs to pass laws to address this issue bcoz there is just no justification that AR15 and similar guns of war be on civilian's' hands and community.

A great point. Certainly they could not have predicted AR15's.

Rights are federally protected and not state issues. Do you think that states can vote over whether black people are property again? Do they get to vote on whether or not you have a freedom to speech? Can states just pass laws outlawing all guns? What makes you think freedoms guaranteed by the constitution can be overridden by states, and exactly which freedoms are those?

But the SCOTUS first upheld RVW until they over turn it. It will just be a never ending challenging the state laws. There should be laws passed by congress. if you pass this to the state, then there is no point having a congress. States can just pass laws indiscriminately depending on where they stand. Anyways, abortion is on the ballot this November. And every time it comes up, abortion right is always upheld. It's just a fact.

Disagree. There will never be a world where all 50 states have banned abortion.

What is on the ballot according to the Democrats is to 'save democracy' by electing a candidate that didn't get one single primary vote.

The way you've worded this is confusing.

But are you equating the right to get an abortion with the right to free speech? The right to bear arms, etc?

Why do people keep repeating these really dumb lies? You know this isn't true, right? Have you just replaced DrJohn? Kamala got 99% of the votes, from something like almost four thousand delegates in the Democrat primary. You know you could spend fifteen seconds looking this up, instead of just repeating dumb lies... Right?

There's nothing confusing about what I've written. You're saying that states get to decide whether women have a right to privacy, which is where the right to an abortion stems from. So you believe that states can simply decide to take away people's federally protected rights found in the constitution. That's what you're saying. What other rights can states take away? Is it only this right, and only for women? Or can states take away any and every right they like? C'mon, take your logic through to it's conclusion to realize how silly what you've said is.
