I just wanted to chime in here. When girls get together with other girls they don't know that well, they tend to show off a bit. Even just 10 years ago, there was a lot more slut shaming between working girls than there are today. You almost had to pretend you hated clients just to make friends. I've always had a pretty strong personality, strong self esteem, and known my worth. Negativity of any kind bugs me. (I'm a hippie that wears deodorant, makeup and hair products lol). I would just show and read my book in the corner. People around the world of all genders like to gossip and talk trash. The talk you might hear in the dressing room of a parlor really means absolutely nothing. We are all just people. Some of us love what we do, some of us hate it. Just like any other job around the world. I love my job for the most part. I have some clients who I'm close to. I don't hate anybody.

I believe you. There are multiple people in any type of profession where talking about hating on clients or how a certain client is a cheapskate or a chump...etc this is nothing foreign. Back in the day when Miraj Spa was across the street from metro town a few doors down from Cactus Club, the ladies who worked the spa never made it a secret they'd go there and gossip during breaks and after work, and would act just as badly at times towards the staff there, not tip, or send an item back because they didn't read the item contained something they didn't like on the menu. That cactus club also attracted other sex workers to hang out with the Miraj girls. I was friends with some of the staff there so there was always this walking on eggshells around the sex workers because of some of their behaviour. Point I'm making the girls who wanted the drama were out there about it, the ones who didn't want the drama never went face out, kept to themselves mostly, and only worked a select number of days of the week and would it even call it a day early if they reached their personal financial quotas. No BS, because they never overworked themselves or chased clout, just made their money, retained their anonymity, retained their civilian family and friends, and kept away from drama by separating their work life from personal life.
I worked at miraj for 3 days lol. It was really slow when I worked there. I would be so embarrassed if I went to eat some place where people I was with treated wait staff badly. I'd tip extra and never eat out with them again. So gross
Yeah, I know what you mean. I limited my association or where I go with certain people over stuff like this. I should add a positive interaction. I had a recent concern over a condom breaking with an SP (not going into details) and was worried, i messaged a couple of workers who I've developed enough of a raport where we may reach out to eachother periodically. One told me where to go about getting myself tested online and the other offered me PEP with no hesitation, so that I can kill any potential infections. I reached to ask for recommendations and was directed to a speedy resource as well as offered medication. Bottom line is there are good people who work in sex work.
The people who act like assholes are the ones who get noticed.
