No Harm, No Foul? In one of Trump's filling in NY recently, he said he done no wrong in inflating his assets to get favourable rates from banks and that all loans were paid and that the banks love them. No Harm, No Foul. But he also deflated his assets to get lower rate for govt and business taxes. Still No Harm, No Foul? 🤦‍♂️
Under or over reporting asset values while applying for bank loans is not a crime.
Banks do their own due diligence and act accordingly.

As far as the tax department goes, they always get their money. Doesn't matter what you report.

I beg to disagree. Perhaps here in Canada, yes. Banks do their due diligence to a certain extend. And I will even go further in telling you this. Here in Canada, if the banks wants to find out your net worth overseas, they only require you to show them documents that they do not have any way to check if they are true or not. But in the states, supplying banks wth unsubstantiated documents is bank fraud and if you submit false documents to insurance company, it's insurance fraud, both here and the states. I know this for a fact coz my sister in law is an accountant there. If what you are saying is correct, and please, I am not saying its wrong, then CRA do not need to audit anybody anymore? What Trump did was falsified those documents. Even Deutsche Bank, in recent NY hearing admitted that trump inflated his assets by over $1.5B to get favourable rate. That is a crime in NY. They say they knew about it but decided to still loan him the funds bcoz Trump Org has a good credit standing. No harm No Foul but still it's a foul. With regards the tax department, My son in law works for CRA. I can tell you with certainty, if you file nonsensical report, you will be 100% get audited and ask to pay the deficiencies. If you refuse, they will 100% file this in court and that is when your trouble gets very complicated. You are going to bleed.

This is a very healthy exchange of ideas indeed. We should agree to disagree. Lets us not stood down to the level of what's going on over there. I encourage this kind of conversation and hope I am not being rude or disrespectful in not agreeing with you.

No shit, Sherlock. That NY case is a civil fraud trial.

His criminal indictments are in Florida (classified docs), DC (Jan 6), Georgia (racketeering, forgery perjury etc), and NY (Hush money).

I was responding to what was mentioned regarding the NY Civil fraud trail.

No mention was made of the various criminal indictments. I am fully aware that they exist.

Do you know that Trump was elected president? He didn't appear from outer space and he didn't gain power through some violent armed overthrow of the existing government.

He was elected.

Your TDS is strong.

If he gets re-elected next year, I hope you manage to get through it.

Good luck.

D.C. Circuit reinstates prisoner P01135809's gag order.

We do not allow such an order lightly. Mr. Trump is a former president and current candidate for the presidency, and there is a strong public interest in what he has to say. But Mr. Trump is also an indicted criminal defendant, and he must stand trial in a courtroom under the same procedures that govern all criminal defendants. That is what the rule of law means.

I accidentally came across an article about the justice system in the Philippines. I am surprised that they exiled a sitting president in the 80's and not so many years ago, sent two other presidents to jail for corruptions and plunder. What's so important to note here is that their constitution is almost a Xerox copy of the US Constitution. I don't believe US justice system has the balls to do that to Trump. He has been given preferential treatment no doubt. If he was in Singapore, he would have been found guilty, sentenced to caning and sent to prison by now. Americans who has long been maintaining a tough, strong macho image actually don't have the guts to do a house cleaning of their own country, To say that this is travesty of their system is an understatement. Justice delayed is justice denied.

a link in the news article points to this Fox News story:
Migrant crisis smashing new records amid fresh surge at southern border

in which president Biden states "We need to fix the broken border system." the Biden administration has requested $14B in emergency funding that House Republicans have refused to supply without various other requests.

Biden also suggests "I am willing to make significant compromises on the border."

is this just another issue that Republicans need to be perpetual? that they themselves don't want solved like abortion because if fires up their base?

Ofc! otherwise they won't have anything to talk about against the Dems, not to mention they are in the majority now. They have in their power to fix the border issue, gun issue , the economy and all that. They can legislate and resolve what they are complaining but they are not doing it. They just want to fuck up the everything for Biden.. Beside, the border issue is their own doing. If they stop hiring illegals, there won't be an influx of these people in the first place. It's common sense. They just don't have it.😏
So stupid!!

I'm afraid this is the march to autocracy for Republicans... Tell the law to fuck off! The party of "law and order" is now the party of "we are the law"!

the majority? you clearly don't understand how the American gov't works

they can't push anything thru, the Dems control the Senate, mostly, where it can block things, as they've just done and usually do

and even if they didn't the president can veto pretty much anything he wants, they'd have to have a super majority in both houses to override him, 2/3rds

they had control when the orangutan was there for a while, did nothing

much like the first 2 years of Obama

just like our idiots who when they have majorities, accomplish pretty much nothing of note

why do you think we and they are still talking about the same issues/problems 40-50 years on, over and over and over again with no results

they're only job/goal is trying to get re-elected

Yeah, it's not like the Democrats ever blamed everything on Trump. And still are.

Surprised to see this Kid trying to enlighten his generation to what’s at stake if Trump should win the next election, Robert Dinero tells it like it is.

Yes, you are correct. The senate and the president can block legislation passed by the house of representative. But can you tell everybody here what meaningful immigrations or border legislations that the house republican passed?? The last time I checked there was none. Just like guns legislation, they just refuse to do it. And to say that I clearly don't understand how the American gov't works is a very sweeping statement, unfortunately that deserve no merit.

I believe the reason for this trial is Trump reports the property at a lower value for tax reasons. The problem is he reports these same properties at a much higher value for insurance or when a higher value is required for sales purposes.
