I am craving Mt. Dew right now but not caving in. I think my forehead is getting clearer skin I have to look again to be sure but I do think it's working some for better skin.

It's the swearing that's going to be the hugh challenge. I have failed many times today.

Well ....How would I survive without Coke ? 🤔🥺

One of my only treats ...that might be exaggerating. One Coke a day keeps the bugs away ! How could they survive anyway ? Lol

Yep the strike at Coca-Cola will affect the unprepared. I stacked up for the upcoming holidays with enough Tonic, Club Soda and Coke for the month; if it last longer than that I will have to stop cold turkey as someone said.

But definitely the amount of sugar in Soda can be staggering and has quite an effect on someone's health and weight.

Other than the odd beer. I mainly drink all sorts of herbal teas or water and lemon juice.
Freshly squeezed lemon juice in cold water ( a cold mug left in your freezer ) is a great way to stay hydrated.

As a short term fix, I'd try just a very very light squirt of Mio into a glass of ice water. The flavour and slight sweetener helps soothe the cravings a bit. In the long term cut that out too.

Successful or not, if you can reduce soda intake that's a great step in the right direction!

Mexican Coca Cola is way better than the slimy stuff here. It’s the best thing to drink there. Pepsi is almost rare there.

Yep ! The Mexican production plants might be using none chlorinated water or filtered water to make their Coke.

Coca-Cola stopped regional distributors in Quebec to produce out of wells and produce out of city water . The taste difference was perceptible to the point that it became known and Coke shut down the production. The Ste Agathe des monts plant still had an over flowing well (being at the foot of a hill ) in the early 90s that they couldn't use . Crazy but true

Not knowing the whole story but immediately suspect lack of drinkable water in Mexico might the be cause.

The difference is Mexican bottlers use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. The syrup makes our coke slimy. As soon as you taste the Mexican stuff, in Mexico, you notice the incredible difference.

Is it what they call up here the ultimate coke ? Because I tried that ultimate and it definitely has a different taste , almost corn syrup after taste .

Ultimately what we put into our bodies matters. I just saw today that rap artist Post Malone cut 55lbs, by cutting soda out of his intake and he looks freekin' fabulous!!
As for myself, I began a diet and body prep on August 8th, for an Ayahuasca retreat that I completed 6 days ago. I'll share the suggested list with y'all, so you can have the idea
of what I cut out of my body intake. I thought it was going to be difficult, as I enjoy all the items I red dotted. It was easier than expected and my body fat is melting off.
I'm extremely proud of myself and it was just the reset I needed. I would challenge any of you to give it a try for at least a month and watch the rewarding and positive results in how you look and feel.
(*I couldn't give up sex and/or masturbation. That's what keeps me youthful and pays the bills)!

I used to drink a lot of soda. 2L a day was not unheard of when I was in my 20s, but in recent years, I cut out 99% of it to the point where it's a rarity. (Sometimes a rum & coke at a bar, or maybe if I get some fast food combo, that sort of thing.)

I do not really miss it. I dislike carbonated water by itself, so that Sodastream stuff is really not something I like. Ditto for Club Soda.
It's just plain water and ocaisionally juice now. Gotta stay hydrated, and I found out that soda (being so sugary) is not the best thirst quencher anyway. If I want fruity flavour, I at fruit. Even a few drops of lemon or lime juice in a jug of water can make it tasty.

On the other hand, cutting other kinds of sugar out of my breakfast has proven much harder. Coffee is my caffeine sole source now, but needs sugar to kill the bitterness. I don't drink very much coffee, though; I never was one of those people with a coffee or tea in hand all day long.

I you are giving pop up,, I think you'll find it is not very hard. It does not have to be 100% cold turkey, but the main thing is stop buying it at the grocery store. In the end, you won't miss it.
Get one of those Brita water filters to put in the fridge so you have some cold filtered water on hand, unless your fridge does that function built-in.

I used to work with a guy who always had a 2 litre bottle of pop on his work bench. He was a young, big tall guy but he had a bit of a pot belly. At some point he quit with the pop and lost his gut within a couple of months.
Right now we got a new supervisor where I work who is very overweight. He is very knowledgeable about diet an nutrition and was dispensing advice on the subject. To my amazement I discovered he actually brings a Big Gulp to work every morning and downs it before 10 am. I didn't know that was a thing.

Advocate for men's health here.
Ever seen a documentary or similar on how much sugar is in a 2l bottle of coke, etc? Other sugary drinks?
Sugary cereal?
Candy, desserts, etc etc.
Sugar in this form is quite possibly the worst thing you can put into your body, but all that aside:
Mindful eating. Whole foods (not the store). Water, lots of it. Protein at least 0.6 x your desired body weight in grams per day.
Get in a calorie deficit, one pound of body fat is 3500 calories, you do the math on how much you want to weigh.
And lift. With purpose, at least 2 x a week. Oh and walk.
MPH out.
