Last week’s bus crash near Carberry killed 16 and nobody is commenting. Billionaires get all the attention.
The builder proudly flaunted his ignorance.
One of many examples is combining titanium with carbon fibre, which is a) well known to be unreliable and b) he was warned against doing.
His response is Im doing it anyway.

Reading this BBC article discusses the CEO had been arguing these potential problems for 5 years. The certification issue reached a boiling point and Oceangates Legal team threatened lawsuits the arguments stopped.
Clearly everyone with submariner’s credentials knew it was doomed but Oceangate went ahead anyways.

It's unfortunate ppl lost their lives sure but why does this have to dominate the news.... These pompous rich folk knew there was a risk and tbh, their own fault for getting Into a sub that looks like it was put together in a backyard and controlled with a video controller

Anything to do with Titanic is big news, the irony here is the same mind set sunk the Titanic; full steam ahead she’s unsinkable, this guy also thought his piece of crap was invincible, both were filled with the richest of the rich. Titanic has a companion now, birds of a feather flock together!🤷🏻♂️

it is statistics. car accidents have high probability to be on the news. so people are like "what news?"
but subs are different. you may only hear this once in a while. so people are like "big news".
They would have died even before there pain neurons could have registered anything.
And that's enough of that. They are dead, the company was completely to blame and aside from the kid, no one should give them an ounce of pity. Let's focus thoughts on those who deserve it. Mentioned in the thread, migrants drowning in a sinking, the seniors in Manitoba, and many others who didn't author their own demise, are not billionaires and aren't getting 10% of the airtime these idiots are.
