I was simply wondering if the current economic forecast for the country along with rising interest rates will impact on your activity.
Or is pooning recession proof?

I have noticed that a few of the ladies I enjoy spending time with have raised their rates recently. I’m bummed that I won’t be able to see them going forward, but zero blame to them….everyone is dealing with expenses going up and we have some of the most expensive rents in North America in Vancouver.

Thanks for running the poll. I was wondering about how people are adapting.

The mods will be watching closely. I am quite happy to be retired and not pooning, or my bank account is. My food bill and car costs would have emptied the pooning account, if it still existed.

The pandemic hiatus let me put aside some pooning funds, so its not quite Jethro type money but for now I’ll keep my current pace. However if the forecast turns into a prolonged reality that may change.

I have the resources to spend whatever I like. Having said that, I have a price point in mind that I feel comfortable with and that has led me more to massage than FS. I have found creative massage options that are more enjoyable for me than FS.

I'm making a fraction of the bookings I used to. I definitely don't begrudge providers for raising their rates when literally everything else has become more expensive, but it's become another luxury I can't justify spending on. I still love window shopping though...

I find that the pandemic and rising cost of living has changed my views on this topic for what seems like the 5th time in 3-years. I'm at the point now where I'm not that interested anymore in the longer sessions that I was booking at the mid-point of the pandemic when restrictions started lifting. I'm finding myself sticking more to 1-hour sessions or even shorter HE sessions with an agency, but the frequency in booking has remained the same (1-2 times per month). This change in habit has naturally lead to spending less on SP's.

I will admit that I'm finally at a point where I'm really thinking about the amount of money I'm spending seeing SP's where I was never particularly concerned with that prior to 2020. The reality is that life has just gotten a lot more expensive.

The only thing I've rethought is a Pattaya trip. The epidemic really killed a healthy bar-girl supply so now the limited number of girls charge the bars more and their increased wages have them less in need of SP income. The girls have the upper hand so much of your hopes will die on arrival.
The current costs come out on-par to Cdn pricing, quality is reduced and then add airfare, ...no way...

To be fair though, the views on this thread aren't going to be the people booking 2-4 overnights a month. They're made and things aren't going to change for them.
It's not going to be the guys that were stretched before hand and bargain hunting for 15 minute specials. Things were rough already, it just got way worse.

It's going to be the guys that had maybe one regular whom they saw once or twice month for an hour. These guys, they're going to be seeing her once every season or so.
Personally I've scaled by more than half, and am really appreciative of the ladies I spend my time with now.

"Canada's economic forecast" ? Not if you put it that way. But if you say the world is increasingly fucked up and life is more expensive everywhere, then yes.

I have been definitely cutting back on it already. COVID caused me to stop for 2 years. Then I only recently got back into it, but now the general financial situation really bites into it hard, and I may have to swear off it again.
A pity, since I've been longing for longer sessions and adding social time with some ATFs, but at the moment have to limit myself to only short sessions and less of them. Saying "I would if I could" is as good as it gets. Soon, perhaps not even that.

Not so much the economic forecast as the ridiculous prices of virtually EVERYTHING!
The last time I spent time with a lady was 2019. COVID basically put an end to it. After doing the whole "work,eat,sleep" routine for the last three years I realized how much I was spending and saw how much I am saving. Looking at retirement in about eight years.
If I continue at this pace I may have a chance.

Uh, the worse the surrounding economic conditions, the better the pooning conditions.


Pooning is at its worst when there is price control from factors outside of, or beyond simple supply and demand.

The worse the economy, the better the supply.

The better the supply, the better the pooning, for reasons which should be obvious.

Obvious, eh. I don’t think you’re considering the impact of inflation here. Costs for many things are going up, and so prices for most things are going up. I’ve seen several providers - just from the small number that I follow - raise prices recently by at least $100 (for 90min bookings). As I mentioned before in this thread, that’s their business since I’m sure their costs have gone up too. But I don’t think your logic works when you add inflation to the mix, except for the truly desperate ones.

Pretty sure he’s talking about more girls entering the business to make ends meet. Students, Retail Workers, etc. More girls to choose from and pooners scaling back due to their own financial situations could lead to a “competitive” market for the pooners that are still in the game

Just my opinion. I work the average job with the average pay. It would be nice if prices stayed the same prior to COVID but in reality Inflation rates are to be expected, even in this hobby. I don't blame their insustry, I just poon within my means. If I can't afford it I won't be pooning at all.
