Trumps not a god, even the Roman Emperors were not gods.
The founding fathers of America, wanted the separation of state and church. For good reason. Look what religion is doing to America right now. It divides the US, because the Republican Party favours the Pro-Life choice which is enforced by the Christian churches of America, because of their ancient fertility rights ingrained in the Christian Religion. The reason for no abortion and birth control is to maintain/increase the numbers of god fearing Christians. That's all folks.
The second problem is that most Americans can't think for themselves. Evidence, they don't try to find the answers, they are too busy trying to get laid, look good on social media, buy and wear the right clothes etc.

It's ironic why they wanted to ban abortion as they say they are pro life but promote gun rights. An average of 100 lives are lost every day bcoz of gun violence in the US. How can that be right? Trump on the other hand in my opinion will drag the US down to it's grave. America is so divided that they are "killing" themselves and its all bcoz of him. Cant understand why some people even believe this guy.

It's not ironic in the least. Just referencing your point, pro-lifers believe that every life deserves the chance to manifest into the birth of a child and to have a fair chance to live and go on to do whatever. 2nd amendment supporters believe in the right to defend oneself with legally obtained firearms and it does not automatically equate to death or murder. They're not even remotely similar concepts.

To be completely clear, the pro life folks want the baby born and then they do not give 1 fuck about what happens to it. Die in poverty? Fine. Grow up illiterate or in foster care? Fine. and at no point do they ever give a fuck about the mom, especially if she's a woman of color. It's the wonderful hypocrisy of the religious right in the USA and around the world when it comes to abortion.

The biggest supporters of choice are Democrats, who rule over the cities with the most black poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and violence. You'd think they'd want all those future supporters to be born, not aborted, but then, they don't seem to give a flying fuck about black on black deaths by gun violence, either. See Chicago, Detroit, New York, St Louis, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, etc etc. which is never mentioned by Democrats or BLM.

details on the success of widely available fire arms as mechanisms for self defence is hard to find and even purposely not collected by many police departments due to political pressure NOT to do so.

the details that we do have suggest that guns predominantly don't protect anyone.

More Guns Do Not Stop More Crimes, Evidence Shows

of course, thats Scientific America... just another "liberal crank" which is anything/anybody that doesn't support whack job belief systems.

not that i'm about to convince anyone but... no guns, no gun violence.

funny i haven't seen any Republicans claiming that once they pump money into poor neighborhoods then the gun problem will go away? of course not, because they prefer to gently blow on racist concepts and save rich people tax money.

What more guns have to do with what I posted? Or abortion? Or lies Democrats spout to pander to black voters? Or the failure of Democrat policies and jurisdictions? Or lack of concern from Democrats and the black community in general, or BLM in particular?

Cock Throppled: I suggest you replace Chuck Todd as host of "Meet The Press". I hear he is being replaced as host because viewers are tired of his bias in favor of Democrats. I think you would great at educating these politically illiterate Biden/Democrat supporters on the disaster of the Biden presidency. Barack Obama was right when he said, "Don't under estimate Joe Biden to f__k things up".

Makes sense because most gunshot deaths in the US are suicides, or acquaintances of the shooter. Spouses, lovers, kids, parents, coworkers. Obviously, if there's no gun in the house, it's unlikely anyone in that house is going to die by gunfire.

Very few gun deaths in the US are criminals shooting strangers.

The one exception is the rapidly growing group of Christian, conservative, white males who go on shooting sprees and kill a dozen or more people at random.

Meet Elizabeth Deutsch & Isaac Arnsdorf. She's currently a law clerk for Justice Breyer. And, in my humble opinion, she's the most likely person to have leaked the draft Supreme Court opinion, purporting to overturn Roe v. Wade.

download (1).jpeg

But first, a disclaimer: I have no inside information. This thread is speculation, based almost entirely on publicly available information. I could easily be wrong. Cool? Cool.

Her academic background isn't that uncommon for Supreme Court clerks. Yale undergrad, Yale law, and 2 British Master's degrees, from LSE and Cambridge. Do note the Master's degree in Gender.

Here's where things start to get interesting. Every law student has to write a note - a long legal research paper, usually making a novel argument about the law. Elizabeth Deutsch wrote hers about reproductive rights and abortion.

Specifically, she argued that Obamacare's non-discrimination provision should be interpreted to *force* Catholic hospitals to perform "emergency abortions." Aggressive argument - and hey, law students make aggressive arguments.

While in law school she wrote a NYT op-ed about reproductive rights. Sensing a theme here.

Her career page on LinkedIn doesn't reveal that much...until we start digging a little further.

First, thanks to her NYT wedding announcement (of course), we know that she clerked for judge Nina Pillard. She's stridently pro-choice. Perhaps not shocking.

After her clerkships, she got a Gruber fellowship at the ACLU for a full year. What was she working on? You guessed it. Abortion and reproductive rights.

But none of this proves anything. Yes, Deutsch's career seems pretty focused on abortion. But without some connection to Josh Gerstein (the journalist who received the leak opinion) there would be no reason to suspect her.

Let's go back to that NYT wedding announcement.

"The bride and groom met at Yale. She is a lawyer. He is a journalist."

Isaac Arnsdorf just got hired by the Washington Post as a national political reporter.

But where has he written in the past?

Oh, look. He wrote for POLITICO.

SHARING A BYLINE WITH JOSH GERSTEIN.

Looks like Gerstein and they are still bros - chatting on Twitter, interacting as recently as last year.

So, to conclude:

We have a currently-serving Supreme Court law clerk whose career has been almost solely focused on abortion.

She wrote her law school note on abortion.
She wrote op-eds about reproductive rights.
She spent a year working on abortion for the ACLU.
She clerked for a stridently pro-choice appellate judge.

And it just so happens that her husband is a journalist, who shared bylines with Josh Gerstein at Politico, and it looks like they are still buds.
I don't know that Elizabeth Deutsch leaked the draft opinion.

But I certainly think someone who has spent much of their academic and professional life fighting to expand the right to get an abortion could be desperate enough to do so.

My note:
What makes the leak significant? The controversy likely to bring Democrats out in droves for mid-term election.

so you're in agreement then... that gun reform is necessary?

this is how real dialogue should work... and has been proven time and again to work. that neighbours can come together and discuss specific issues with all the factual detail that they have and come to an agreed upon solution. its been shown to work in study after study.

but the necessity is to get away from clumping all problems together, claiming that the problems can't be solved due to ideological differences, or that the imaginary "other side" simply have horns growing out of their head... thats the culture war. the war the rich want you to fight so that you aren't thinking about the class war.

US Department of Justice leak over Roe v. Wade, gregious in being the first leak from US Department of Justice. A broken trust previously not shared with other two branches of government.

If you lied on your job application, most places find that dishonest, and would not hire you, or if you were hired and the boss found out later, they should be fired. Same thing for these Justices who lied to Congress about Roe vs Wade. Or at least some smart ass should line them up with the end of a rifle....

I see sleepy Joe Biden stuck his foot in his mouth again. He told a reporter that the USA would support Taiwan with the United States military if China attacked Taiwan. The White House PR team quickly tried to clean up Biden's gaffe by stating the USA would only supply weapons for Taiwan. I just shake my head at what this idiot says when he is not reading the teleprompter. China issued a stern warning about what could happen if this senile old man (Biden) isn't careful with what he says. Elections have consequences and we see it everyday when Biden speaks.

i'm sorry.... compared to the last guy? these "gaffes" are actually good as far as i'm concerned... he's just saying what he's thinking. same when he said Putin needs to go. lots of people agree even if its not the "official" position.

Trump on the other hand in my opinion will drag the US down to it's grave. America is so divided that they are "killing" themselves and its all bcoz of him.

that is upside down and misguided.

Trump was always a given... from day one everyone on the continent who'd been here for a while knew who he was and what they were getting with him.

The variable... was and remains Hillary Clinton.

She was so inept
(unwilling to stand-up even for herself, let alone anybody's country... to this day lists but a single elected office in her life, that cherry-picked entirely so that she could win on her husband's name) that once those {who will now/soon cry over their lost abortion rights} could offer no alternative to Trump but such a mixed up and politically stupid individual (she lost to Obama solely for not campaigning in every state during the 2008 primaries, where picking up even partial numbers of delegates in various "red" states would have topped her upstart opponent) (she then repeated her own stupidity when losing to Trump for precisely the same reason, indicating that she'd learned nothing in the process), it became a relative certainty that Trump would be elected (and, sadly, given the alternative, he should have been).

Trump was the only President in modern times to complete his time in office without sending the U.S. into war somewhere.

The truly amusing part is that those who will soon lose their abortion rights will quite literally have only themselves to blame for so doing.

While you might correctly suggest that the deaths of various Supreme Court Justices are indeed variables, it was always a certainty that Trump would replace any he could with conservative judges.

The one variable in all of this that anyone could control was Hillary Clinton... whose hijinx are STILL in the news this month, even though she was politically finished long ago.
