the Stanley Cup thread got heaps of responses so why not start another thread for sports?

What are your thoughts on tonight's draft of NHL
future stars?
Did the Kraken choose wisely in the expansion draft?
Was Benning's trade today a good one?
Your thoughts on the Tokyo Olympics?
Very mixed opinions on whether they should be held.I read they could still be canceled even though they have begun

Blue Jays will be back in Toronto next week dunno about how many people will be allowed in?

CFL due in 2 weeks,NFL in approximately 6 weeks.

Would like to hear your comments!

Every four years I need a dose of weird wtf sports like synchronized anything, speed walking, or an epic air rifle competition that keeps me on the edge of my seat until I soil my undies.

But I usually don’t realize I need these things until confronted with the brutal reality that there are a lot of dumbfuk sports out there.

When nose picking makes the cut, I’m training up for a goober medal. I know, S’not that pretty to think about, but we all participate in it a whole lot more than say water polo (without horses).

Thrust and twist with the pinky my friends.

Anyone else wondering Why TF there is an Olympics during a pandemic? I don't know about the rest of you, but I have never had less interest in a world event than I do in this one.
I mean I have spent more time reading/watching the NHL draft than the Olympics this time around.

lots happening sports-wise.

NHL had the Kraken drat, jr draft and a freaking wild free-agent frenzy!Only the hard-core NHL junkies could possibly keep up.
A highlight to me was Fleury being traded to Chicago...dunno what to expect there?

Also, Ovechkin's new deal for 5 yrs, and speculation about can he catch #99 for all-time goals? If he can stay healthy I'd say he has a shot?

MLB trade deadline was predictably busy.....thing that caught my eye was the Cubs going into full-amp rebuild, trading away the big pieces
of the jinx-busting team for prospects.
Blue Jays returning home, last night's attendance was 13,446(just read it) dunno if that was max allowed under a %.
So, when the CFL kicks off next weekend, depending on the province, fans s/b allowed, but how many remains to be seen.
I'm not sure the Argos were getting 13,446 before Covid?

Finally, half way thru the Olympics and things seem to be under control Covid-wise, touch wood.
Female Cdn swimmers are rocking the pool and the softball team won bronze, losing by 1-0 scores to the finalists, Japan&USA.

A Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn(sp?) Diaz, won her country's 1st Gold medal,after 97 yrs of trying(Cubs' fans can relate,lol)
the govt gave her 33Mill pesos, equivalent to approx $660,000.....wondering how many marriage proposals!
For sure, there'd be parties in Manila and elsewhere.

Any thoughts on these and other topics?

Re the Olympics - agreed. In fact I think my fucks on that left me the last Olympics or maybe it was the one before that.

Salary cap. It's playing a huge part in the NHL rosters.
Re Ovy - sure fun watching him play. I'd go so far as to say he has been the best overall player given he has lasted this long at this high a level.

well, the Olympics went off probably better than many expected, no huge covid outbreaks.
Canada put up a good showing, 23 or 24 medals, female swim team s/b even better in 2024.

NFL pre-season with very little action by the 1st stringers, as per usual.
Deshaun Watson unhappy in Houston, but the target of many sexual harassment charges. When that many ladies come forward you have to wonder?

If Brady stays upright it's hard for me to see the Bucs not winning the NFC.
KC s/b favored in the AFC, but Buffalo and Cleveland may have something to say about that.

CFL has started their reduced season...games in Regina, Edmonton&Calgary drew approx 30,000 fans, but I haven't read how many will
be allowed in on Thursday at BC Place?

Blue Jays not far off a wild-card spot, pitching has improved, they have a chance at catching the A's or Bosox.

What are your thoughts on these and other sports stuff?

thought I'd breathe some life into this thread.

MLB

Jays came agonizingly close to the post-season where, with that lineup, they might've made some noise?
If they can retain the current roster, it'll be interesting to see what they can do in '22, with 81 true home games.

predictions on the post-season?

NFL off to a good start,as usual.

is anybody else surprised at Arizona?I picked the Rams last Sunday, but didn't bet(whew)

Chiefs are fun to watch,if you like high scores. They score with frequency but the defence imitates a sieve.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Buffalo take the AFC, tho' it's still very early.

NHL Canucks sign Petttersen&Hughes, will they be anything but a 1st round exit,if they make the playoffs?

CFL Lions got schooled by the Bombers, who look to be the team to beat?

Welcome your thoughts on these and other sports topics!

maybe Benning should book appointments with 18 ladies at approx 3pm on game day?
I am never more relaxed than after a good sheet tearing, clothes strewn round the condo, sex toys on the floor, stains on the sheets unknown substances on the ceiling sex!!!. Perfect setup for a skills game like golf, ping-pong, or darts.

that McDavid goal will be viewed countless times this season(maybe not so much by Rangers' fans)

Did anybody else enjoy the World Series?
When the post-season began the Braves were the LAST team I thought had a chance but they got it together at the right time.
The chanting and drum-beating no doubt causing the pc types to gnash the enamel off their teeth, lol.

upsets galore last Sunday as the NFL hits halfway

I keep thinking this is the week KC plays like what we've seen the last few seasons, and I keep waiting.
Packers' D did their part vs KC, can't help but think Rodgers would've been the difference.

Are the Canucks starting to turn things around?
6 goals vs Dallas could be the beginning?

B.C.Lions not quite done but I think the Stamps will turn off the life-support on Friday.
Forgettable season for the Leos.

Thoughts?
