Sadly this just isn’t an accessible option for everyone 😭Women will drive or fly to another state after six weeks. Uber and Lyft have even offered to cover all legal costs for drivers, if they face any legal ramifications for trying to help women find care.
Why one day? Make it a longer duration. It’s a terrifying step backwards, and sets a precedent for more of the same in other places. Women have fought for decades for the right to choose, and seeing it taken away in Texas is devastating. Watching roe vs wade be rechallenged again and again when we thought we had already one that one years ago is exhausting to the core.
I would like to organize a mass sex strike with women in Texas. Hell why not women everywhere. The state is telling women they can’t choose? Then fuck birth control, we dont need to control birth, when we actually have the power to HALT IT through abstinence. Let’s see how popular this law is when the men of Texas can’t touch any women with their baby making sticks. No semen = no unwanted baby. No sex = no risk of semen, therefore no risk of unwanted baby. Sex is not worth the risk for women if they no longer have the right to choose whether one encounter changes their entire life. We have dildos and vibrators, penis is wonderful, but if it’s gonna threaten our bodily autonomy, it’s no longer required. Reproduction factory is closed until this ridiculous archaic misogynistic invasive and unnecessary law is repealed.
I wonder how fast lawmakers would change their tune if not only their wife but also their girlfriend or SP refused to touch them, deprived men all over the state would be in the streets yelling to repeal the law.
I would go celibate for change…
Where did I say one day? Have another read, I said until the law is repealed. However long that takes. I said I’d go celibate for change. 😉Why one day? Make it a longer duration.
No contraceptive methods out there that has ever achieved a 100% success rate as you should know. So short of having a vasectomy you are responsible for the usage of your delivery system. Two choices to be safe and never have to risk a surprise 9 months later...vasectomy or abstinenceI'm personally disgusted with what happened in Texas...I don't think anyone with a dick should have a say in what a woman does with her body, flip side of that coin, the father should have a right not to have to support the child if the woman decides to go ahead with the pregnancy and the man does not want it (especially if BC failed and it's a unplanned pregnancy)
Agreed, however , if birth control was used, maybe even 2 types (his and hers) and both failed and the woman decides to keep the baby, but the man doesn't want to, then the option of supporting it or not should be available to the man as well.No contraceptive methods out there that has ever achieved a 100% success rate as you should know. Its going to be neighbour spying on neighbour 1984 style. Insane that the law makers cant see the problems hereit is the $10,000 reward for snitching on anyone who "assists" in the abortion that is brutal. Poor Uber driver who takes the patient in, or the Starbucks barista who overhears the woman talking to a friend, ...
Yet they don't want their freedom restricted.
So will the "fathers" now have to start paying child support from the 7th week? That brings up a question. If the father insists or even suggest an abortion, then he is the one in trouble.
What would happen if Ted Cruz is accused of suggesting an abortion??? lol
The software database company called “Salesforce” advised their Texas employees that they will pay for travel to states where they can access an abortion. I wouldn’t be surprised to see other tech companies support their employees in a similar way.Women will drive or fly to another state after six weeks. There’s so many militias and idiots with heavy firepower in TX they’d probably loose.Next up.............women's right to vote.......? Seems bizarre but everything down there is bizarre.
There was a time the US would invade a country like this to bring it "democracy."
