Sean Connery died today at age 90. Played the role of James Bond about seven times.

For me, all the actors who followed were never as good as the Original but of course, its just an opinion.

Would love to hear what your favorite Bond Movie was, regardless of the original and why? And no . . . please don't choose an Austin Powers movie ?

If you want to start a thread about what an sexist jerk he was, feel free to do so, but don't hijack this one.

Of the old ones, Goldfinger, because it let me use the words pussy galore at home and not get in trouble. The reboot of Casino Royale for the new ones.

May his sexist, violent attitudes die with him.

You are absolutely correct. Everything about the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's and beyond was wrong about men's attitudes and treatment of women.

I don't idolize the guy and actually never loved those particular scenes in the Bond Movies but I liked the movie plots and the action and the villians.

Shoot me !

I think it's important to acknowledge that he was that way before we go on to talk about the movies he did that we enjoyed. Believe it or not, I love the old bond films.

Totally! I just think it's important to acknowledge this part of him when we celebrate those old movies we love so much. <3

I loved Goldfinger and my favorite James Bond Villian of all time was Oddjob with his metal edge bowler hat. Oddjob was just the best.

He sounds just like my father, with a different European accent lol
My father would have been 100 years old today ! and was nothing like a James Bond or Sean Connery - thank heaven for that.

His younger brother, my Uncle was very much like Bond in many ways: arrogance, adventure and intrigue. Was also an abhorant womanizer too. Took my brother and I to his mistress's house one day and told us to play in her backyard while he banged her. When he brought us back home he told my Aunt that he took us to the Zoo for the afternoon. A total cad but still loved the guy. It demonstrated to me that there are two types of men. Those who respect women and those who use women.

You still can like movies with men like James Bond, as long as you understand a fictional character and men portraying them have serious flaws rather than great attributes. Holding someone like Bond in reverence is wrong.

But still the movies were great and the characters were outstanding. The many villians with interesting names were always memorable !

Back on the topic:
Favourite Connery Bond is probably Goldfinger.
But favourite Bond film is probably The Spy Who Loved Me.
Bond teaming up with a Russian female agent is hot, his Lotus that converts into a submarine,
and of course the first appearance of JAWS! hahah.

Either way: RIP Mr.Connery :(
