For anyone interested or did anyone even notice? LOL!!
I can't believe there is no hockey talk goin on here as of yet when we just slammed
the St Loosers into a first game defeat!! Bloody marvelous and for those not familiar
with hockey Stl are the current Stanley cup champions. Little sarcasm intended.

Although I'm sure there are some here that knew that already. LOL!!

Now in retrospect is anyone even mildly interested in the playoffs this year as like almost
everything else covid has upset the perverbial cart of life including our beloved hockey and its
playoffs? I'm thinking this is quite possible and this years Cup champions will not be looked upon
as really having won the cup this year due to the pandemic.

What's your guys thoughts on this?

After all, the Canucks have a seriously good chance of winning their first cup this year
and they looked great in the game against St Loo tonite although I would say that STL
did not bring their A game to the table tonite. Just IMO.

Compared to the pace of most of the games, that looked like a pre-season game.

StL obviously hasn't stepped up their game yet, but that should be a wake-up call.

TV Coverage of NHL gets better every year. I miss only a few things when watching.... Sound of the real crowd. I have seen some games with no crowd sound just ice SFX. I find this better than the added crowd sound... I miss the organ. maybe Edmonton doesn't have one. Things I do like... How they treated the seating area, by covering them with a bunting cloth. Much better than baseball with empty seats or seats with cardboard cutouts. The quality of the picture, these days, and the selection of iso replays. ie replay iso of the players bench, just after the Canucks OT goal against the Wild.... If you can read lips,,, the coach yells... "F$^k Ya"

I sat down and started to watch a hockey game last night after a long time but sadly could not finish it.

I just doesn't feel the same without the build up to the playoffs, but it is what it is, so I will enjoy it for whatever it is worth.

That and it lost its edge now that the hockey season will somehow be a summer sport.

They should have just abbreviated everything and made it a one-time short playoffs, and account for the 4 months they weren’t playing already. The next season starts on December 1st! That means some teams will not have played a single game in almost 8-9 months!

I don’t feel the same when the playoffs will start in August and end in October. It’s just weird.

I'm grateful for the playoffs;a bit of necessary alterations as there may be,certainly better than no playoffs.
I remember in the past;World Cup Of Hockey featuring NHL players, was played just before the regular NHL season began.
The NHL players know, their careers will only have limited opportunities to play for the Stanley Cup and will not dismissively squander Stanley Cup 2020.
Rather than giving Stanley Cup 2020 an asterisk;give NHL full credit in providing its' fanbase something to cheer & enjoy, during otherwise troubling times.

For 'Nucks fans, hope springs eternal eh? Don't count your chickens, seems rather apt.

I remember in 2011, after the Habs were knocked out by the Bruins predicting Boston would go all the way. DIdn't make me very popular when it came time for Game 7...
Ain't that the truth, I'm wishfully hoping including not counting any chickens yet but they pulled a beauty
number on the wild and look pretty damn good so far, although I believe it's anyone"s cup this year
because of all the covid upset fans are missing and travel times are pretty much non
existant and so many other perameters and you can't deny that I would think.

Possibly nucks best chance yet with * in place.

And anytime the Bruins can take out Mtl, I'm a happy camper.:)

The one thing I'm going to seriously miss is the CFL this year and it's not looking good.
There hasn't even been any info on that league lately at all. Sad for sure.

Well they sure as hell didn't tonite and glad to dissapoint you Gm888 lol, They pulled a beauty off after
almost blowing it in the third but kept up the pressure and didn't relent> It totally paid off and now..........

2 games to nil baby!! Awesome and we're talking against the defending stanleycup champions no less.
Have they ever been there before holding the previous years champs at a 2-0 deficit going into the first
round? I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't.

Go Nucks Go!!!

Well not as lucky as in the second game going into a consecutive OT tonite.
This game looked bad as both teams seemed tired and almost functionally disinterested.
Could we call it disfunctional then? LOL!! I mean there were some spotty highpoints in the game
but kinda far and few between.

So ST loo got a game under their belt and on to game 4 for tonite. Man I wonder
if it's gonna be any better of a game but yet some things can be surprising when least
expected. Let's hope that is the case for the nucks and they can put a half nelson on stl loo
tonite. GO nucks GO!!

Haha, good stuff Tim. Yah it's not looking good though.
The wild series was Wild indeed as the nucks looked incredible and again
in the first two games with St loo but holy shit the fact remains that the grittiness
and brute strength of the St loo has overtaken the nucks. I can't say for sure for that
in the first two games as the nucks pretty much out sped them everywhere.

So, with that if you can't be caught you can't be hit. Now to the downside of it, to me
they look like they plain ran their game through the wild into the series with St loo and after
the first two games they spent their load. Game 3 and 4 looked nothing like all the previous
and that gave the green light to St loo to hammer them into submission.

Jesus, though I don't want to bring up the referee's, But especially the 4th game
it was blatant BS, Calls for sticks on players labelled tripping by the refs should have
been DIVING calls. It was sickening. Why does this ref thing sound so F'ing familiar
when it comes to Vancouver playing any American team? It just gets so obvious
it makes me puke. OK nuff of that shit.

Game 5 tmrw and the panel of nucks they had on said they know what needs doin"
They better fucking well get it done or they're simply DEAD MEAT.
They know what to do so let's hope they can do it as they have to shut down that great
big awesome player known as O'reilly on St Loo's team. God loves the Irish but this guys
on the wrong team. LOL!!

Well miracle of miracles they pulled off game 5.
Gotta say they did play well and looked much faster than in game 3 or 4, as that was
going to be totally necessary for a win in that game. One sour note to game 5 as so often
happens.
How in the hell they overcame that fucking dickless
reffing is beyond me. Isn't it always that way when the nucks are in the playoffs that they are always
against two adversaries when it comes to playing american teams?

The team itself and the reffing. Nothing ever changes in Bettman world hockey.
Would be incredible if they can get it done in game 6 (y)

Congrats on making it this far but I think that's as far as it goes. The last two games the ice has been tilted in the Blues favor. The Blues are just to big and have experience. I would love to see the Canucks win.The future looks bright.

Famous last words... the Boys showed They've got Heart !
The Canucks are the last Canadian team standing !
If only the NHL Western Bubble was where it should be in Vancouver, instead of Edmonton .

Bring it on Vegas, You're going to Crap out !

Vegas baby, yeahhhh!
The Canucks' play was unbelievable tonight, top to bottom. The depth scoring finally showed up and that was the difference maker in Games 5 and 6. Lights out goaltending by Marky!

Hilarious as this morning, i apologized to an sp for dressing so casual at our session cause i had a Canucks T on w/ a hoody. I said it's game day and i needed my lucky shirt on....She gave me a cute laugh, then said: if you're not going to take that off, then i don't have to take my top off either. Well, that was the end of that discussion :D

Gentlemen, Gentlemen............. famous last words aside and all that.

Let's get this right bro's
THE CANUCKS JUST KNOCKED OFF THE DEFENDING STANLEY CUP CHAMPS!!!!

Let's climb the walls and celebrate, not since Chicago in 2010, I
think it was that a cup defender was last knocked out by Vancouver.
They did it in game seven to Chicago to go to play the Boston Bruins
for the Stanley Cup in 2011. That series also went Seven games. WOW!!
And here they have another chance.

I'm actually really surprised at the lack of enthusiasm here by all the hockey
nuts that go crazy like almost every year in this forum on this subject and what
are we at, only post number 19 when our beloved canucks once again knock
out the defending cup champs? Come on get with it you guys.

Shit years gone past their'd be half a dozen different threads on our beloved
Canucks.

What the fuck gives here, is pooning that good these days? Yah right? LOL!!!
This team has got one of the most important things any champion team can have
like I've never seen before.

DEPTH!!!!! On all accounts.
Please don't even bother mentioning the Sedin Sisters or I'll puke, AGAIN!!!

This team is the real deal and even if they can't pull off the ultimate prize this year which
would be most wonderful as it's their 50th year in the league they have a team that is
going to be a cup contender within a year or two. To me they just look that good all around
and Travis Green has them doing what he desires. It's looking good!!

GO CANUCKS GO!!!!

Man just when they are doing so well and can't play at HOME!! Damn it all!!!
Let's all somehow send the negative vibes towards Vegas and jinx then into
a colossal fail. That's what they need.

Vegas is going to be a tough nut to crack, they have speed, big guys who know how to
score and good goaltending. Nucks will have to disect very carefully before stepping
on the ice and stick to a regimental game plan. No failing allowed!!

Let's getter done guys!! On to the CUP!!!.

We're still a couple years away... Yah the win over th blues was big for the team goin forward but Vegas just out on a clinic on how to keep a team outta the offensive zone.... The team has 2011 written all over it... Lots of skill but zero big bodies for playoff hockey.... Vegas has plenty of speed to keep up but their big bodies are goin to wear us down... They made quinn look like a 3rd pairing dman
