Yes, times have changed. What you don't seem to understand is that what "changed" was not Trump's doing - he simply took advantage of it (either on purpose or by accident). That which has "changed" was festering in the US long before the 2016 election. They say "be careful what you wish for", in alot of ways, the Left got what it wished for - but they didn't actually realize what that would actually look like. By in large Amercians have not forgotten "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses..." Generations of Amercians did exactly that - it built the US into one of the most diverse countries in the world. But at some point it changed. At some point a white 52 year old coal miner in middle America "complained" about losing his job - and the response he got was "check your privilege"?!?!? Yes, he was complaining about his lot in life - the guy who did everything he was suppose to, the guy who never opposed immigration, was never racist, etc. But yet, he was told he was the problem for voicing his complaints about his problem. Sounds crazy right. I'm sure you can see where this is going, long story short, he was called a racist for having the audacity to think about his "problem" of losing his job which he's had for 25 years. Look at your response, which boils down to "shame on them for thinking ME" - in a way that's how it starts. The Left wanted to make it all about identity, they got what they wanted - not because people are racist or sexist or whatever - because they kept telling a good chunk of America that's exactly what they are...

Oh but I do understand apple, so don't allow yourself to say I don't "seem" to understand. The 52 year old man did
lose his job and it has not only to do with the left, so please do not blame it solely on the left, OK?
It has more to do with the entire business sector and the govt of the US, beit left or right letting
down the hard working american who came to that country looking to build their dream but being BETRAYED by the almighty dollar for those who ruled the business
world shipped off most of their business overseas and the hardworking american middle class
person was slowly being doomed to live out what little life was left in him as their was no work
left in america unless he chased
it overseas, owned an overseas business, had the capital to start his own business and if not then would have
to decide to work at walmart or parking cars in trumps garage if he felt no humility.
So mostly I don't feel it had much to do with 21st century leftist propoganda and the "ME" movement.
That's crapola as Archie bunker says cuz it all started a hell of a lot longer ago than that. As you
said yourself, it had been festering for a long time man.
Seriously man, how can you put that on the politics of the left solely? Just for your info I neither lean left nor
right simply because they both stink in todays society. Politics is nothing but a cesspool of abusiveness
to whoever receives it. And right now trump is dishing it out in spades.
So when I say "it's all about me" the reason they feel that way is just that they have been betrayed as
hard working americans who paid their taxes and got nothing back in return but betrayal. They weren't told
to feel that way. I don't believe that for a second. They could see how they felt by how their country was
falling apart around them and the feeling of "ME" was all they had left after believing in the american dream
which let them down. Tell your side of "shame on them for thinking ME" to all the Detroit City car manufacturers
who now look back at a desert of a city full of nothing but junkies and homeless.
Unions in the early part of the 20th century built the backbone of the USA, today those are nothing
but dreams long gone. That's another reason why people felt left out. It's got nothing to do with
them "listening" to the left telling them. They just wanna work, that's the old school feeling of long ago
and those old retired folk who lost their jobs still feel betrayed by that to this day.
Is trump gonna make Detroit Great again? I highly doubt it.
You can say that again man.
