On TV now, showing remains of a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA.

Just last night he was at the game to congratulate Lebron who just passed him as 3rd all time NBA scorer.

RIP Kobe, you were one of the best.

The latest update from the sheriff of that county - there were 9 people on the helicopter that crashed, and all
9 perished in the crash, which included Kobe and his 13 year old daughter Gianna Maria.
May they all R.I.P.

Sorry for anyone killed too early, but the guy wasn't the saint CNN and his NBA buddies paint him. He bought his way out of an obvious rape.

A lot of the same people who claim we should believe any woman's sexual assault accusations, are lauding Bryant as a saint. Bullshit...https://www.thedailybeast.com/kobe-...ce-the-accusers-story-and-the-half-confession
I agree. Why is anyone lauding a rapist who had enough money to buy his victim’s silence?
I’m with you guys on this.

The accident was tragic, several people lost their lives, but I’m uncomfortable with how he’s being praised as a saint. I wasn’t one to jump on the “every woman should be believed” bandwagon but there was evidence to back up the rape allegation so wtf.

Indeed ...it didn't go to court but he had to acknowledge that the encounter with the teenage girl was not consensual .

Great player but no saint

Being that the rape charge against him had a financial settlement to it before it reached a conclusion as to whether he was guilty, or not. It will always be shrouded in a vale of uncertainty as to who was telling the truth. Since they both got what they wanted we can only guess.

All I can say is he was a great basketball player who was able to live his dream. How many people in the world can actually say that?

Shocking and tragic.

Brought back sad memories about Paine Stewart in 1999 (plane crash).
Wasn’t the plane crash that killed Payne Stewart. Everybody on board was dead due to hypoxia a few hours before the plane ran out of fuel and hit the ground.

Varies now
Sounds like a pretty standard case of rich guy with helicopter, loads up friends and family and blasts off into marginal weather. CFIT, as they say.
Controlled Flight Into Terrain or Flight Into CumuloGranite.

Yeah I'm not mourning him any more than anyone else who died in that crash.

Funny how most of the press didn't mention the 2003 rape allegations and subsequent settlement. I was never a big fan of Kobe after that. Not quite on par with Bill Cosby but......

Give me a break. They're making him into a saint with the tributes, honours and signs of grief. He was a frickin' basketball player.

The coverage is like when Princess Diana was killed.

For fuck sakes - they want to redesign the NBA logo to honour him. Grown men weeping. Jimmy Kimmel giving an-on air tribute and cries. Stopping hockey games for moments of silence. Hockey!

The only way I can rationalize this madness...the herd animals are suffering from celebrity worship syndrome.

I'm not saying we need to go to the other extreme end of the spectrum and celebrate his death, that would be disturbing as well. But the over the top reaction about his death in the media and on social media is nauseating. :puke:

Btw...I'm not a SJW, I can't in good conscience blindly support #metoo and I don't even identify as a feminist.
