I have been noticing this for last little while. When I try to reply to a pm, the window does open, but I can't type anything in the box. Sometimes, refreshing the page a few times works, sometimes, I have had to log in again.

Ironically, when I tried to post this thread, the same thing happened. The boxes to type in opened, but I could not type anything. So I just re-logged in.

Is it just me and my old computer or has anyone else had the issue.

I am not sure how to report it to Mods, hence this thread.

That happens to me sometimes when I'm getting switched between WiFi networks or WiFi and 4G on my phone, it's very annoying.

No, that is not the case. It happened this morning on my desk top, the one I am using right now. Yea, it is annoying.

I am having the same issue on my laptop that never leaves my home. It is running Window 10 and I am using Chrome. But only when replying to a PM. Not when posting replies such as this.

Have you tried a different browser . . . like firefox?

Chrome is probably the worst choice just for privacy concerns alone.

I was having the same issue again this morning. Could not reply to a pm and I have trying to write this for last few minutes, just couldn't post a "Reply to Thread". But I have not tried any other browser.

I just found an easy solution to your issue T8E:

When replying to pm, instead of trying to use the automatically generated reply, mouse click on "Reply to Private Message" which appears on the bottom right of the original pm that you are trying to reply to. It brings up same view as the automatic reply, but for some unknown reason, it does allow you to insert text, while the automatically generated reply does not. Easy peasy :)

I tried to respond to your message and it wont allow me (the automatic way). I got distracted, came to Forum and when I went back, it worked.

It could be too early to conclude but possibly we face this problem when responding to a new pm!!!

Did you try the solution I suggested?

I just had a similar issue when trying to report a pm I recieved that I was thought was inappropriate. It asks for reason I am reporting and I was unable to do so since I could not insert text in the box provided. There is definitely an issue here that the Perb admin should investigate. I am using Chrome as my browser btw.
