Fort Nelson is a fucked up place....I had a problem there with four big First Nations boys, that went south real fast....and the last thing I was looking for was trouble.
The edge I had was they thought I was just some unarmed tourist, that would hand over his truck, wallet, and woman without violence.....they where wrong.
There are several places there that the SW will openly carry hatchets in plain sight for protection....saying its a rough town is a dramatic understatement.

never ever was a fan of the place going as far back as the late 80’s let alone now a days and that’s not to mention even the volume of both the black and grizzly types out on the job sites either.
Most countries have armed forces not to protect themselves from other countries but to maintain law and order in their own country. Mostly they serve in a secondary role to police forces, but when its beyond the capabilities of the local police, the military takes over.
In Canada, there was the OKA crisis in the early 1990s and in the 1970s there was the martial law declared when terrorist kidnapped 2 people. The military in those instances did not butt heads with crowds etc.

In Halifax (up to the the 80s) sometimes the Navy would clear the streets of hoodlums that would prey on returning sailors returning to the base from the bars.
In many parts of the world the police are the bad guys and you want to stay clear of them, or you find yourself out of all available cash to bribe you way out of situations... it just the way the world works. (in the back of your mind your thinking who polices the police)
For all the less educated people out there that think that shit dosen't happen, and that we live in a lawful country; think again, there are parts of the country the cops don't go to without alot of backup. For most part it is.
If Street walkers have to carry hatchets... That usually means the local law enforcement is failing and education and talking to people is not working. Then maybe the powers to be should protect the average citizen from criminals... by persuading the criminals nicely..... A few well placed hits with a baton on the center of mass does wonders for criminals learning the lessons of polite society.... if they are slow learners and likely they are, they can also do it again the next nite or the nite after, till the message is loud and clear....
And thats how some people learn through the school of hard knocks......

The muskeg and swamps in northern Manitoba are very hazardous even to people who live there. They often walk with sticks like ski poles to test the ground before stepping on it, it looks normal but it's like quicksand. It is nothing like the bush in BC. The two incel guys will have a hard time getting around and finding food and clean water.
The bush is so thick you can get lost in a heartbeat.
Not much cell service there outside the communities or away from the highway.
Hopefully they do off themselves before hurting anyone else. They have nothing to lose so might be even more dangerous if they want to go out in a blaze of glory in their eyes.

I'm sure the cops have some pretty solid evidence that they are/were there. They just don't release the info.
At this point one of 3 things has likely gone down.
1) They somehow, perhaps prior to the influx of LE, escaped the area.
2) They are still holed up somewhere and its just a matter of time before they are caught/surrender. If they are it has to be in some kind of shelter such as a cabin or abandoned building. There is no way they could deal with the flies/mosquitoes constantly feasting on them. I've been in those areas and there is no amount of bug spray that keeps you from getting eaten alive especially at night.
3) They have killed themselves and the odds of them ever being found in the dense bush are low.
