Since coins are legal tender, if you were a SP and someone showed up with coins for payment, what would you do?

I only ask because I was cleaning out 18 years of coins and found over $400 in pennies to twonies.

Pennies really not that practical... 200.00 in pennies thats 400 coins rolls... Pretty much a backpack full of metal.... its would be heavy. Imagine if your SP gave you change back in rolled pennies.

Currency Act.

"Limitation

(a) forty dollars if the denomination is two dollars or greater but does not exceed ten dollars;

(b) twenty-five dollars if the denomination is one dollar;

You would be surprised. :pout: Always have to have some 10's kicking around for change. And not just for me, have seen it for Eve also. Guest came few days ago with all 5's. Apparently that's all the machine had.

Students, seniors.... single parents... I can go on...
Sure- if the rate is 120 and you pay with a couple of Bordens then I get it. But maybe be prepared instead?
When seeing an Indie I believe that it's up to the client to have the correct amount. Break the larger bills before you show up if you must. Don't confuse the SP with a bar maid that has a float standing by in a beer glass on her tray. And if the rate is 170 and you hand over 180 then- to me- it's the cost of playing.
Also- advertising that there is ready cash in the vicinity is asking for trouble- there are plenty of Dirts out there scoping the sich while girly leaves the room to root through her purse.
AMPs are a bit different in that there is a cash flow going into the box.
But of course a courteous Provider will do what is necessary to appease the client even if the client can't figure it out in advance.

If I have change, I give it. I usually don’t have any cash on hand though

Funny that this topic came up.

A while ago, I contacted an SP and asked her if she accepted payment with only coins.

She responded, "I always get paid with bills, why should I accept coins now?"

I said, "For a ......... change."

Well put, my Double D Buddy !

If You're having to count, your Nickels & Dimes, whether that's Coins or possibly Bills ?
Maybe Pooning, shouldn't be, on your "Priority List" ?

Jerking Off, is Free !
Doesn't cost a Penny... LOL

I can't imagine, showing up, with anything less than a $20 Dollar Bill ? WTF !
And, quite honestly, I'd be embarrassed placing something smaller than a Red in the Envelope !

But, I'm trying to stick to Quality, over Quantity these Days !

Just my 2Cents... LOL

Cheers

P.S. The OP, should be in for a good Time, if He just goes to the Bank 1st !
Hopefully, that was never really, in Question ?
The Banks, still have take Pennies, don't They ?

I have had this fixation collecting American coins (not pennies) since I moved to the South OK in 1989 and made some junkets to Oroville and Spokane. Got an old Maxwell House coffee container three-quarters full ... which is now way too much to devote time to counting and rolling it. I estimate about $600. This thread got me thinking I should donate it to the SPCA. Thanks!
Oh ... and asking an SP for change is something I could never imagine doing. I kinda cringe at the thought.:fear:
