That was basically Campbell's point - to play the part of a serious individual you should dress that way. How many female executives do you see wearing sleeveless dresses? Probably some, but not a lot. For the simple reason that bare arms makes you look more casual and less serious.
What is or is not business attire can always be up for debate. To me, reading news has a serious side to it, but if a news anchor, weather girl (Yvonne Schelle) or traffic reporter (Kaitlin Herbst) wants to show her bare arms.... I have no problems. Although I do feel K. Herbst can use some toning on her arms.
