Being out of Canada and MSP coverage?

I wonder if anyone knows the limits of being out of Canada and how it affects coverage?
I plan on being gone 6-7 months and I don't know if there is a time limit involved?

I called MSP, waited,went through the "push 1 for..."etc, finally got a live(though it turns out,brain-dead,person)who got ALL my info,
.When it finally came to my(I thought)simple question, she said she would transfer me to (I forget the fancy job-title)
This resulted in more waiting and since I didn't have a copy of War and Peace handy I gave up.

The MSP website didn't have anything on how coverage is impacted by being out of Canada...or at least,I couldn't find it.

So, does anyone know.....if you're out of Canada is there a time limit,eg 6 months where your coverage is not valid upon your return?

I think it is rated on income.....if you make a living here, you may owe regardless.
But that does bring up a very good point, if you travel outside of Canada, and buy extra insurance through a travel agent.....why would you have to pay?

You are welcome and reason why I did it that quick was because I totally understand what you said about the frustration of calling some of these places. I have been thru that myself.
