House of Cards cancelled and Kevin Spacey's Emmy is revoked and his career is toast.

I find it interesting that people wait decades to say something.

why wait decades, and a lot of these people were young, so the question has to be asked, parents, where were they did they talk to them, did they know there young adult was in
a risky situation,

in a way I get it, my father a rapist, in jail dysfunctional family, it took decades for me to some how come to grips with it, and talk.
but other then this message board where everyone is anonymous, maybe two other people I have told, and my sp.

just very very close trust worth people or some one I would never see again.
its a very personal thing,

so I wonder, it is just a case of jumping on the band wagon. supporting other people, and yourself. coming out, in a way it is,

but to me these things are extremely personally

and some are just stupid, like ben Affleck grabs your boob and you don't stop right then and there and go what the fuck are you doing.

someone resigned because they touched someone's knee thirty years ago.

some one you says molested you etc sexually harnessed you but you continue to have a relationship with them, and then decades latter, you question and come out
what he did to you.
so was it really sexual assault, or just fucking annoying shit, you put up with to save your career.

I remember one actress like forever ago, saying she would fuck any producer or director to land a job, and she kind of hinted
everyone was doing it, but most producers were gay so it didn't do her any good.

so im wondering is,, the standard somehow different now, the moral code is somehow is different then it was decades ago.

one lady in our work place the rumor is she fucked her way to the top.
not sure if its true or not, but sex has always been used as a bargaining tool. those willing to use it and those that don't

im wondering is the game changing, our moral standards changing
were out of entitled celebrities
People who are abused physically or mentally usually have a lot of self doubt about the events around them. Not sure of stats because so many incidents of rape or molestation goes unreported. Knowing someone who was raped during a drunken incident elected to go quiet rather than go to the Police. It takes a lot of guts to go through with it and subject yourself to "you were really drunk, are you sure you didn't agree ..... " or "how were you dressed?" It's awful that the victim has to defend themselves in this type of crime.

Think about all the children who were raped or molested at the hands of Priests. Even as adults they have difficulty discussing their situations because their church is held in such high regard by the community.

I get that sometimes there are false accusations which can end someone's career or put them in jail. Obviously fair and due process has to occur to ensure the proof supports the allegations.

yeah I understand perfectly well
it takes decades and decades to understand

and understand your role in everything,
you come to peace with your self as much as everything,

that is what I mean, you find peace and forgive your self.
as a person who has been through shit in my child hood,
it is about forgiving yourself. accepting yourself as much as anything more so even,

yeah there is some fucking asshole out there you have to deal with,
but what part did I play, that is the hard part to deal with.
in my case it was my father,
it was a very personal journey I told few people about,

I just watch two very public people, who come out and are making a journey of there child hood abuse.
very public, and in the news,
I won't mention there names,

but one strikes me as very real, very sincere and all that, has a foundation to help others and move forward.

the other has the same, but he doesn't seem as sincere, its more about me, what can I get out of this, I really don'\t think he has come to grips with
it just by listening to him, he has written books etc, etc, I think he just wants the money and the attention.

we are all in a journey
but were in different places in our journey

For those who ask: "Why didn't you fight back?"

What happens is that when faced with a situation where there is an inequal power dynamic, victims of harassment/abuse tend to freeze, whether in disbelief, outrage, or fear. In other words, they act like PREY. It's part of This allows the predatory behaviour of the harasser/abuser to occur. The predator often turns that to their advantage by persuading the victim that they participated willingly, & that their behaviour will be seen as 'asking for it' or 'wanting it', & thus it continues. Psychologists now recognize this as an aspect of the flight or fight response. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/evolution-the-self/201507/trauma-and-the-freeze-response-good-bad-or-both

Interesting that an actor playing President on tv is held to a higher moral standard than the real President.

What a sad state of affairs.

I heard on AM 660 today that the soon to be released movie "All the money in the world" starring Kevin Spacey is reshooting EVERY scene he is in with Christopher Plummer who was the preferred actor by the director from the get go.Probably between 75-80% of the movie will be redone and Kevin Spacey will be edited out.The trailers are already out and no doubt the movie posters have been printed. All of this will be redone with Christopher Plummer and in time for Christmas....a shitload of money and a lot of work.

Never have I heard of this before or seen such backlash....Kevin Spacey better hope he has enough to retire on as he is NEVER going to work again in showbiz.

Retire? There's a non-negligible chance that guy is going to jail based on some of the newer revelations. Police files are open.

There once was an ass in Nantucket
So fine Spacey wanted to fuck it....

But fortunately, a woman bystander saw what was going on. She could tell the young man (18 at the time) was drunk past the point of consent (Spacey reportedly bought him drink after drink), & witnessed Spacey putting his hands into the young man's pants. When Spacey went to the bathroom, she asked him if he was OK with what was going on, & when he said NO, she urged him to run, & he did. The state of Massachusetts is taking this whole thing very seriously.

There was a clip on Family Guy years ago: Stewie runs naked through a shopping mall yelling "Help Help I just escaped Kevin Spacey's basement! "

This clip was a few seconds stuck in the middle of an episode.
Everyone in Hollywood knew about Spacey but kept it secret.
Seth McFarlane was the only one willing to say something.
