When the Middle East upped its oil production, and demand was exceeded, the price of Crude went down, and that was the main result of the end of our oil boom.
The oil sands isn't just pumped out of the ground but extracted with heat, making it more expensive to produce....but I think you already knew that....as did OPEC, which upped its production the day after Your president announced that the US intended to buy Canadian crude, refine it down in your neck of the woods, and sell it to whomever wanted it.
If it was such a bad deal for everyone....why did your Government want to run a pipeline through most of North America to Texas refineries ,and sell refined Canadian oil to foreign markets?
