Good on you to be smart with your money. Many people out there never get near that kind of income and many that do don't know how to use it intelligently.
Yes, buy something you need and not just something you want. Some people always think its expensive to live in Vancouver. It's actually is, IMHO not. Other major cities in the world like NY, London, Paris, Tokyo, HK are far more expensive. Just try to be smart with your expenditures and Vancouver should be a beautiful city to live in. Just me.
