Give it another few years my dear and it will become mainstream.
It's already here, for example with the Tesla that comes to you from its parking spot. Or with the Google cars in the San Francisco bay area, which will probably be available to the public in 2020... Fun!
That rebate or grant is not around indefinitely, if you're gonna get a grant/rebate better apply now.waiting on the Tesla Model 3... the company's mass market electric. They're trying to price it at around 35k, which, imo, is almost affordable.... especially if one can take advantage of rebates and incentive programs.
hopefully by then, more super charging stations will be around and it won't take 2-3 hours to charge up a battery after driving it's range.
