More weirdness from BC Govt and Mayor Moonbeam to shut down Burrard St Bridge for a Yogathon?

I've been known to take my mat and enjoy a long good stretch to fix all that ails me but come on; do we need to shut down a major artery into/out of the city?

Was BC Place unavailable, was Stanley Park unavailable and the only logical place happened to be Burrard St Bridge?

Pandering to the Bike riding, kale smoothy drinking Yoga Zealot vote?

Simply madness I tell ya!

and it will cost taxpayers $100,000 for the traffic rerouting, policing, security, etc.

Greetings from 100 Mile House, yup I pulled the plug on weed city, will take my chances up here.

Only Vancouver would allow hundreds of weed shops to open and do big business with no license.

Enjoy

Hey lay off the pot shops and start your own thread lol

Sleep deprevation and sore back will get you a card ;)

But really they know the hot button with motorists is bike lanes and now they are closing a friken bridge to lay out the yoga mats?

' Hey Yoga haters.. Bet you can't wait for international Tai Chi day'
Is she clueless?! It's not yoga we hate it's you!

This stupid event is supposed to be sponsored by Lulu and Alta Gas, so why aren't they picking up the whole tab?

It's now supposed to be up to $150,000, but we've got money to burn, so who cares?

Meanwhile, the real (free) event at BC Place gets ignored.

Meah, if you can't beat em join them. I might go for a whirl on the bridge :) the burrard bridge is always packed and there's two more to Dt. Cambie is always faster anyhow. Downtown is always blocked of for one event or another, plus the parades.

Although I'm a firm believer in fitness training, and good muscle control, shutting down a bridge in Vancouver seems a bit of a shitshow....I'm not built for Yoga, nor do I have, or want the wardrobe.
If a room full of women are practicing yoga, it seems it remains a spectator sport for this Cowboy. I'm thankful I don't have to put up with Political nonsense like that, just to get to work.

How about we start a petition to have a poon-athon day on Lions Gate Bridge.

How about having it on No. 3 Rd. (Cheaper SP's).

We could do it on King George Blvd. in Whalley area in Surrey. I am afraid mayor of Surrey would never agree to anything like that, she is afraid she could get fired (at). (I am from Surrey myself, but a little 'blast' of humor couldn't hurt.)

Sorry about that. Not trying to hijack the thread. :) Carry on boys and girls.

:)

But on a serious note, I find the idea laughable and ridiculous.

I wouldn't count out the First Nations to spoil Christy's Liberal Party Fundraiser on Burrard Bridge ;)

I was talking to a First Nations man last night and he was saying the Aboriginal Day has simply been ignored by BC Govt.

Look for protests at both ends of the Bridge

Hmmm....piss off the people that can sink all your LNG financial dreams...hell, maybe as bbb points out, get them to protest your blowing off Aboriginal Day. Spend 10 million on TOIFA and millions more on "trade missions" to India and then crap all over the Indian Consulate's FREE yoga event....they were prepared to pay the province for the use of Robson Square, so money in, as opposed to out........Is Christy Clark really that stupid or arrogant, or is time for her to change up the hired help ?
