Crazy Lady Epic Freak Out After Missing Ferry (Victoria, BC)

We’ve all felt that unholy rage bubble and boil within when things aren’t going our way. But it’s rare we let the red mist take over and explode.

Well, this woman did just that.

The traveller threw the most spectacular hissy fit at a ferry port.

She’s seen screaming at staff and shouting ‘I’m so mad’ and ‘you people have no feelings’ before storming off child-tantrum stylee.

Reasons for her angry outburst aren’t clear.

Sensing trouble brewing at the customer service, Peter Flaatten took out his phone and recorded the whole thing.

The description reads: ‘I snapped this video at the ferry when I suspected a lady was getting a little out of line. My intuition was right and this is what happened.’

Honestly there is no problem with the ferries .

I travel on the ferry .some times 5 days a week transporting cars...no reservation I take the 7 in the morning g ftom Swart bay ..and either the 11 ...1 or 3pm back from tewassen. ..
Yes you have to be there 5 to 10 min before they start to board..I am usually there an hour or more befor.
Yes I have seen some people get up set over there own stupidity..one guy got In to analtercation with the purser on board the ferry..
He was complaining about how he had to walk so many stairs because the elevators were so slow.. a d he just would not let it go. kept making a fuss .yelling and grabbed the purser..
He was escorted off. It made us late leaving m
by 15 min.

Compare BC ferries with their Seattle/Washington counterparts and you'll understand!
US are 1/10th the cost and 4x the frequency haha too bad you can't go from Seattle to something like the equivalent of point Roberts on Vancouver island...

She should have been banned from BC Ferries. It is not unusual for BC Ferries personnel to report abusive and or violent passengers to the Captain. They do have the authority to give someone a Life Time Ban.

One would never know how she might behave once she got on the Ferry.

Of course yo cost is rericuious for our ferrys ..but thd US allso have 10X more people and a lot of Canadian that use theirs in stead of ours... If you want to fo a cost analysis and give a report back on why one is cheaper then the other.. then I may have a different opinion.
As it is I don't pay for it...but when I could I there was a few years I was going over and back a few times a month..

I saw something similar a few years ago. The ferry incident is nothing compared to this. I guess not every one can handle the stress that comes with travelling.

Her blow up at the staff is inexcusable (without knowing all the details - maybe they told her she had time to go for a smoke outside who knows - although that is doubtful)

Poor lady, this is so sad. She was obviously really hurt and upset, and seems to have lost get temper in the heat of the moment. Now everyone and their mother are watching her breakdown and mocking her for it, as though they've never lost their temper themselves, albiet in a less public venue. Sometimes I'm so disappointed in the lack of compassion people have...
(Btw, not directed towards the OP, just society and the human race in general)

Fair assessment Cami but at the same side of the token, no one is feeling sympathy or compassion for the employees who she basically told "YOU HAVE NO FEELINGS"... Now that would make me feel pretty crappy in this situation and extremely embarrassed, there are better ways to conduct yourself in public over missing a ferry (especially by not directing you anger and insults towards employees who are not at fault). :thumb:

You're a very kind and empathetic person Cami... I agree she's not well in the head. But truthfully, it might do her some good for her to see how her behavior looks to others. She clearly has no self control and the embarrassment of seeing herself might give her some insight into her behavior and push her to change.
