Woman Raped Over 300 Times By Husband While Sleeping

Despite the topic being embarrassing, 26-year-old Sarah Tetley is encouraging women to speak about marital abuse.

In August, her husband, Charlie, was sentenced by a court to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to five counts of rape, attempted rape, eight counts of assault by penetration, three counts of sexual assault and 10 counts of making indecent images of children.

Sarah was raped in her sleep by Charlie more than 300 times, but she became aware she was being sexually violated by her husband only when she once woke up in the middle of the night while he was raping her, reports People. The frequent sexual molestations explained why she often woke up feeling drowsy.

Sarah sought the help of the Leicestershire Police, who discovered when they searched the house 316 videos that were evidence of Charlie's assault on her and household objects that her husband used in his sexual practices. "It was quite disturbing. In a couple of videos I watched you couldn't hear me breathing, and I didn't really appear to be moving at all. I did look like I was dead in some of them," People quotes Sarah.

The abuse was over a period of two and a half years. Since her husband's arrest, Sarah suffered from panic attacks and had trouble sleeping for about five months. With the help of counseling, she has moved on and is in a new relationship with her neighbour.

Kamloops B.C.
Around here ole' Charlie would have a date with a tall tree......and a real short rope.
Married or not...there isn't any grey area with that one.

in some circles a wife refusing to have sex with her husband is grounds for divorce, its her duty, and in some religions as well.

I guess as a guy no longer having sex with his wife, I could have forced her or blackmailed her into fucking me,
but do you really want to fuck some one who doesn't want to fuck you, or finds it distasteful

I agree there is not a lot of grey area if the women doesn't want to she doesn't want to. the question is why would you if she doesn't.

on yer ignore list
from the article:

Since her husband's arrest, Sarah suffered from panic attacks and had trouble sleeping for about five months. With the help of counseling, she has moved on and is in a new relationship with her neighbour.
everybody seems to think that she suffers her 'panic attacks' and 'sleeplessness' from finding out about the nightly bangings and filming activities

but what if it's because she ISN'T getting banged regularly - even while she's asleep?

i just hope the 'neighbour' can keep up with her needs

just sayin'... :)

How the F*** does a girl not know she's being raped in her sleep.... THREE HUNDRED TIMES?

I'd like to read an explanation about that.

It doesn't say if she was taking sleeping pills. I know I had sex in my sleep once and didn't remember it the next day. I took an Ambien, (which would knock me out in 15 minutes flat) right after a big fight with my ex, then as I was falling asleep we decided to have make up sex. Apparently he continued on after I fell asleep, but he started with my consent, so I guess it wasn't rape.

No. It was rape. An unconscious person cannot give consent and there must be ongoing consent during sexual activities (else no doesn't really mean no). The Supreme Court of Canada ruled on this a little while ago so it is the law of the land.
One more reason to be glad I divorced him long ago.

The court ruling wouldn't be retroactive.
It happened in the US anyway. Kinda blows my mind to see it in this perspective now though.

I'm having flashbacks to when it happened. We were in Florida on a "let's see if we can work things out" vacation. I remember going out for breakfast the next morning, drinking mimosa for breakfast at a sidewalk cafe. He mentioned how wonderful it was the night before ... and I said "what do you mean?" and then he told me we'd 'made love' the night before. I pretended I remembered, but I didn't.

I had a girlfriend who used to tell me " if you wake up in the middle of the night with a hard-on just stick it in me OK" so I did and she would always wake up and just love gettin fucked. It's obvious this guy is with the wrong mate, people need to find the right person they are compatable with. They both seem to have issues and are toxic together!
You have no idea how many women want to get raped. When I was younger I did phone chat lines and a couple of them called me and asked to be raped.

I can't get hard wanting to rape someone. Seriously, it's such a turn off. One girl I dated wanted it so much. I just couldn't do it.
When a girl tells YOU she wants to be raped, she doesn't mean she wants it done by anyone else - and it's not rape anyways if she says she WANTS it.

i had an interesting experience one time. I met an SP who was into the whole idea of rape and we found a school, we went to a dark corner of the school yard and I grabbed her from behind and starting going through the motions of raping her. I was behind her, told her not to say a f#$%king word, grabbed her by the throat, ripped off her clothes and give it to her.

It was fun, but we were also not far away from the skytrain, and even though it was night it made me wonder.

Afterwards as we were walking back to the car we heard voices and a couple of people were coming our way. Not sure what would have happened if they came our way 3-4 minutes earlier.

- the law in question has not changed since the event
I thought you'd call me out on this one. I looked it up. Yes they didn't change the law.

Bottom line, if anybody, say, kisses a sleeping spouse, it is a sexual assault under Canadian law (even if you got a prior consent, it's not valid). The example is from SCC ruling. Since there was no constitutional challenge, SCC would not overrule the law.

I always say that to guys that I date, and I love waking up to dick too. Sounds fantastic. That's just me though.
I always think women are way too silly and sensitive but then someone will remind me that given my profession I don't exactly have the mind set and thought process of a typical woman.
Works for me though.

I saw a show on Dr. Phil where this lady was mad at this couple for outbidding her on her dream house. As an act of revenge she posted ads on CL saying she had a rape fantasy and wanted a man to push his way into her house and rape her and the more she screamed and fought and begged him to stop the more she wanted it. Then she gave a description of the lady and her address. Thank God nothing happened, but people San be real psychos. You never know.

There used to be an ad in the personals of some chick wanting to be raped it ran for a couple of years back n the 80's really creepy. This particular chick may have been having an affair with the neighbour and found a convenient way to dump her ol man.
