Sherman could be right. That is a dominating defence I've been watching the NFL since the ice bowl and have never seen such athleticism mixed with size and intelligence. Get used to it even the rule changes can't slow them down. Wright, Wagner, and Bennett are All Pros. Sherman, Chancellor and Thomas are well on their way to wearing Gold jackets. Chancellor is a once in a generation player.

If the offense could stop with the penalties this could be a blowout through the playoffs.

tho' I was too young to see them play I've been told the Steel Curtain of the 70's Pittsburgh teams was dominating.

the 1985 Bears are often referenced as one of the all-time best D's,those Ditka teams probly s/ve won more than 1 Super Bowl.

having said that the "Hawks do have a very impressive D.

The Seahawks look to be peaking at the right time for another shop at the SuperBowl. I`m curious to hear what fellow Perbers feel about Marshawn Lynch. I know he is not a warm and fuzzy guy and I know he is more of of a power runner in style but in results, is he close to being on par with Barry Sanders?

11 Wins 4 Losses makes them a joke team? Best season they have had in a number of years.

Where have you been this season?

Seahawks turning it on in the last half of the season is amazing to watch. Even having 11 penalties didn't stop them tonight.
Lol i just dont like the Cowboys. As someone else said i pray to god they self destruct and as for people saying dez bryant or demarco murray should be mvp, i dont see that happening. Personally I see Russell Wilson or JJ Watt being stronger mvp candidates who deserve it more.

NE is the number 1 seed in their conference with Denver losing to Cinci on Monday night.

Seattle will be the number 1 seed in their conference if they win at home vs lowly St. Louis,...according to the Sunday night game announcers.

Number 1 seeds get home field advantage through their conference playoff games, at most 2 games.

I thought Dallas will get the 1 seed if they win? Based on their win head to head.

I was wondering the same. ESPN speaks of head to head as a tie breaker, but it would appear according to them conference record is a tie breaker before head to head. They have Seattle now listed as number 1 seed & say the following re the Seahawks:

"NFC West Champ (Wins tie break over Arizona based on head-to-head win percentage.)
Wins tie break over Detroit based on best win percentage in common games. Wins tie break over Dallas based on best win percentage in conference games."

http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/playoffs/sort/conferenceRank/order/false

ESPN also has Detroit seeded ahead of Dallas ATM. Though they will likely lose at Green Bay, while the Cowboys should win at the Redskins.

Dallas would win a tie breaker vs Seattle only. It would be based on the Cowboys win over Seattle.
But because every team in the NFC playoff picture is 11-4(except NFC South) going into the final weekend the NFL has to go to different tie breakers.

Well then we are 100% in agreement. Never liked Dallas and when they became "America's Team" it only got worse.

But, they are playing well.

It confused me too. The only way the Seahawks can win and not be the 1 seed is if Dallas wins and the Lions and Packers tie.

I can't figure out the scenario where Seahawks miss #1 seed if Lions-Packers tie.

If 'Hawks win,they're 12-4, if GB-Det tie thet're both 11-4-1.

how can 12-4 not be better than 11-4-1?oh,wait,light goes on.then, Dallas&Seattle both finish 12-4&Cowboys get head-to-head tiebreaker?
if 'Zona wins,they'd be 12-4 as well,then a 3 way tie,& a diff. tiebreaker?

this is assuming 'Hawks,'Boys&Cards all win, keeping in mind..."on any given Sunday"

"if 'Zona wins,they'd be 12-4 as well,then a 3 way tie,& a diff. tiebreaker?"

I suppose since Seattle beat Zona twice they win the division based on the head to head tiebreaker. That would make Zona a wild card team & it would leave Dallas & Seattle as the top two seeds who get a bye in the first round. So it would be between the Seahawks & Cowboys for the #1 seed. I assume Dallas would get it based on head to head with their win in Seattle early in the season.

I think you're exactly right,Lenny...but for it to happen like that,Detroit&Green Bay would have to tie, which is extremely unlikely.I believe the winner of Det-GB gets #2 seed
after Seattle(assuming Seattle beats St.Louis)

How KC&Houston at 8-7 still have a chance is beyond me but apparently they are alive with, I guess, many things having to go their way.

Yes, ties are very rare. AFAIK there was only one so far this season.

KC & Houston still have a shot? Amazingly a team with less than 8 wins will make it in the other conference. I think they'll get a home playoff game as well, so much better chance of winning.

Have not province
Edmonton Oilers has now lost their eighth straight game. Meanwhile, Canada's team Toronto Maple Leafs bounced back with a 4-0 win over Dallas Stars. Vancouver Canucks are near the playoff bubble and around this time last year fell off the table.

If anyone follows college basketball, Arizona Wildcats lost their first game this season to UNLV improving to 12-1. I didnt see this loss coming...

3 NFL coaches sacked....Trestman,Ryan&Smith, no real surprises there.

Playoffs start this wkend.tho' Carolina has losing record, they finished 4-0&have home field vs Zona team running out of qb's.

if his suspension is upheld Makka-dumb-dumb king-kong Suh is out for the Dallas game.what an idiot, million dollar body, 10 cent brain.
